EPIC Fundraiser- APEX Update

We’re starting fresh in the second week of our Apex fundraiser! So far our students have learned that SUPER HEROES…

  • ARE STEADY — We stay calm and in control of our emotions.
  • ARE UPLIFTERS — We encourage and support the people around us.
  • HAVE PURPOSE — We know our "why" and take small steps toward our goals.
  • GO THE EXTRA MILE — We do a little more than what’s expected, especially when it helps someone else.

Today, our students learned that SUPERHEROES ARE RELIABLE! Reliable heroes do what they say they’ll do, show up when others need them, and follow through even when it isn’t easy. Actions speak louder than words — when you’re reliable, people know your true character because you prove it day after day.

Parent/ Teacher Conference Sign-Ups

We look forward to connecting with families during our upcoming conferences:

  • Thursday, November 5 from 12:00–7:00 PM

  • Friday, November 6 from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

Teachers will send families a sign-up on Friday, October 16.

Each conference is 20 minutes.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth, discuss academic and social progress, and collaborate on goals for the months ahead. These conversations help strengthen the home-school partnership and ensure every student continues to thrive.

Please note that each student will have one conference time. For families with two households, we ask that you coordinate a common time so that both parents or guardians can attend together if possible. Having both parents hear the same information helps ensure consistency in communication and support for your child at home and at school.

If you need assistance with scheduling or require an interpreter, please contact the school office.

Social Academic, Emotional Behavior Risk Screener

Millburn is initiating mySAEBRS screener as a social-emotional benchmark assessment in the Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall survey will be begin next week. The mySAEBRS is a brief (20 question), evidence-based screener that allows students to self-assess their social, academic, and emotional behavior competencies. It is appropriate for students in grades 2–12. Attached is a detailed parent information sheet for your review. Please contact your child's teacher if you do not want your child to take the survey.

2026-2027 Yearbook

DON’T LET THE MEMORIES BE JUST A BLUR!

The school year is already full of laughs, learning, friendships, adventures, and moments we’ll want to remember forever!

Make sure your child has a copy of the 2026–2027 Yearbook to look back on all the fun, friendships, silly moments, and memories that made this year special.

Order your yearbook today! Click on the following link to place your order: 26-27 Yearbook

Because someday they’ll say, “Remember when…?” And you’ll be glad you have the pictures to prove it!

Halloween Celebrations

We are excited to announce our Halloween celebrations on Friday, October 30, from 1:00 PM until the end of the day. EPIC will be providing all the fun activities for the event.

Important Notes:

  • No Goodie Bags or Food Items: Due to the many allergies in our building and to prevent the spread of germs, students should not bring in goodie bags or food items. EPIC will provide all materials for our celebrations, so there’s no need for additional items. Thank you for understanding and helping keep everyone safe!

Costume Guidelines:

  • Do not wear costumes to school: Students should bring their costumes to school and change before the celebration.
  • Costume Independence: Students must be able to put on their costumes by themselves, over their regular clothes.
  • Classroom Costume Change: Costumes will be put on in the classrooms.
  • School-Appropriate Costumes: Costumes should be appropriate for school—no blood, weapons, or anything that may be deemed inappropriate for a school setting.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to a fun and festive Halloween!

Meet Jan, Our New Therapy Dog!

We are excited to introduce a new four-legged member of our district team—Jan, a therapy dog who will be working alongside our physical therapist, Ms. Golebiowski!

Jan will be joining Ms. Golebiowski at various times as she works with students. Jan may be incorporated into physical therapy activities and exercises in ways that can help make therapy sessions more engaging, motivating, and enjoyable for students.

There will also be times when Jan will be accompanying Ms. Golebiowski throughout the school building. So, if you happen to see Ms. Golebiowski walking through the halls with a four-legged friend, you’ll know who it is!

Animal-assisted therapy can provide a number of benefits for students, including increasing motivation, encouraging participation, providing comfort and reducing anxiety, and creating a positive environment during therapy sessions.

We are also aware of students who have allergies or other needs related to animals and will take appropriate precautions to ensure we are being mindful of those students. Jan will always be working under Ms. Golebiowski’s direction and supervision, and interactions with students will be based on individual needs and comfort levels.

We are excited about this opportunity and the positive impact Jan can have on our students. We are looking forward to welcoming Jan to our schools!

Personal Invitation Procedures

As we begin celebrating birthdays and special occasions this school year, I want to remind everyone of our school’s expectations regarding personal invitations.

If students wish to bring invitations to school, they must be for the entire class. Invitations may not be distributed only to certain students, nor can they exclude a specific group (for example, all boys or all girls). This helps us ensure that no student feels left out during classroom celebrations.

If you would like to send invitations to select friends, please make arrangements outside of school and not through classroom distribution. Please also note that the school cannot share personal contact information for other families.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all of our students.

Picture Day Retakes

If you missed having your child's picture taken Monday evening, we will be having retakes on October 14. You can sign-up for a picture retake with the link below.

2026-2027 School Calendar

Important Reminder: Keep Your Address Updated

Please remember to notify the school office as soon as possible if you move or have a change of address during the school year. It is important that we have your most current address and contact information in our system at all times.

If a family moves outside of the Millburn School District during the school year, the student is permitted to finish the school year at Millburn. However, the family would be responsible for providing transportation to and from school.

Thank you for helping us keep our records accurate and ensuring that we are able to communicate important information with your family.

Plant-Based Lunch Option

Did you know the Millburn cafeteria offers plant based meals? To ensure accurate ordering of these food items, parents are required to sign-up for the program. Please complete the form by clicking here, to register your child(ren). If you signed up for the plant based menu last year, you do not need to sign up again; last year's enrollment in the plant based menu will carry forward while your student is enrolled at Millburn.
