Highlights of the Week!
Our 5th grade students took a field trip to California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) this week. Thank you to our school counselor, Mrs. Sheppard, and the 5th grade teachers for a fun and enlightening day at CSUCI where our Roadrunners got a sneak peek into higher education and how their hard work in elementary school can pay off later!
Red Ribbon Week
Halloween Parade
Halloween Costumes
Aspen students WILL be allowed to wear costumes to school on Friday, October 30. Please note that there are guidelines about the types of costumes students may wear to school. This is still an academic day and students will be completing assignments in class. For this reason, students need to wear age appropriate costumes. No masks, fake blood, or weapons of any kind are allowed. No face painting for the school day. We want Halloween to be a fun filled and academic day for everyone! If you have any questions about a costume, please call the office
Roadrunner Run Club
The Roadrunner Run Club is open to all students before school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:55 AM to 8:10 AM. We meet on the upper grade blacktop and run or walk around the perimeter of the basketball courts. Student will count their laps completed each time they participate and we will keep track of total laps completed for each student. Please note that the Roadrunner Run Club is optional and intended to provide a structured and a supervised activity before school starts.

Parking Lot Safety
Please use the following guidelines to assist us in keeping our students safe in the parking lot:
- Proceed in the Aspen parking lot at no more than 5 miles per hour.
- Walk with your child across the parking lot using the marked crosswalk.
- There is no crossing guard in the parking lot crosswalk.
- Do not allow your child to walk unattended between cars.
- Stay in the right-hand lane, move all the way forward, and drop your student off from the right side of the vehicle.
- Never leave your vehicle unattended in the drive-thru lanes.
- Follow the California Vehicle code laws.
- You may pull up to the curb at the front of the school to drop off your student.
- You may park on the street on Oberlin or Marlowe and walk your student on campus. Please do not block driveways. Be mindful of labeled No Parking zones near the crosswalks.
- The gates at the front of the school and on Marlow street will be open for entry and exit.
- Arrange with your student ahead of time a location for pickup.
