Arrivals Reminder
Now that we are into the coldest months of the school year, our school drop off has increased in popularity. If you drive to school and drop off your student(s):
- Morning Car Arrival: 8:05 - 8:15am
- If you are parking in one of the SL parking slots, please pull around the circle and into a spot. The circle is a one-way drive. Many cars are pulling the wrong way down the drive and could cause an accident.
- Pull as far forward as possible to allow multiple cars in the circular drive (all the way to Mrs. Rothermel).
- Parents, please do not exit your vehicle as this slows down the arrival process. If you want to assist your child in exiting the vehicle, please pull into one of the marked parking spaces.
- Please make sure students are ready to exit the vehicle quickly upon arrival.
- Make sure your child exits the vehicle on the school side as opposed to the driveway side of the car. It is much safer to exit onto the sidewalk!
- Once your child exits the vehicle, you are free to go. Please do so quickly as we will keep the line moving. **We have many car drop-offs, and will do our best to get through cars quickly!**
- Consider having your child take the bus in the morning - the students all enter the building at the same time and are guaranteed to be on time to class!

Teachers Make A Difference Award
Annually, District 95 takes time to recognize its exceptional staff members. The Teachers Make a Difference Award is designed to recognize those teachers who have represented our mission and gone far beyond normal expectations in supporting or motivating a student or group of students. We hope each family will consider this opportunity to complete a nomination and share their own appreciation for our educators!
Click here to complete a nomination for the Teachers Make a Difference Awards
All nominations are due by midnight on January 9, 2026.
From the many nominations we anticipate receiving, a selection committee of district administrators will select three of our outstanding educators to be honored in front of their peers during our annual staff awards program. Winning teachers will also receive a monetary award toward the use of professional development or other educational resources to continue to support their exceptional work with students as well as to further their professional development.

December Student of the Month
Each month, District 95 asks every building to select a student who represents our District Values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, high expectations, integrity, perseverance, and respect. For the month of December, Spencer Loomis chose Fifth Grader, Maddie R.
Maddie consistently demonstrates kindness, initiative, and a genuine desire to support those around her. She is always volunteering to help others and approaches every task with a positive, caring attitude. As the class Kindness Ambassador, she actively looks out for her peers and works to make sure everyone feels included and valued. She recently organized a class activity in which students created origami hearts and wrote uplifting notes to one another, fostering a strong sense of community. Maddie is an effective communicator who listens attentively during discussions and remains fully engaged in learning. She also exemplifies the qualities of a global citizen by collaborating and compromising with others in thoughtful, respectful ways. In addition, she regularly advocates not only for herself but also for classmates who may need extra support. Maddie’s reliability, compassion, and leadership make her a wonderful example of the Portrait of a Graduate.
