Inside LE August
August, 2026

Meet the Principal
My name is Rhea Faris, and I am proud to be the new principal of Lugoff-Elgin High School where there is a Legacy of Excellence.
My goal for LE is to be recognized as the best school in the state of South Carolina. I am focused on making sure you receive the best teaching possible so that you can achieve the best learning. I am committed to excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics. To be the best, our students must be at school every day, and be on time to class so that they do not miss out on any instruction. Our teachers need to design engaging classroom instruction that challenges students to achieve greatness while offering support for all students.
Open House
Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 5:30-7:30.
Health Room
Welcome back for the 2026-2027school year! Please visit the updated school exclusion list at SC Department of Public Health. These guidelines help health room staff determine if your child is well enough to attend school if they do not feel well.
If your child requires medication during the school day or with after-school activities, please make sure the proper requirements are met. Forms for medications at school are available here. All prescription medications require a physician’s signature. Over-the-counter medications require a parent's signature and must come to the health room in a new, unopened, unexpired bottle.
Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn!
School Based Health Center
The Community Medical Clinic's (CMC) School-Based Health Center (SBHC) is available to all students attending Camden, Lugoff-Elgin, and North Central High Schools in Kershaw County.
The SBHC operates like a minute clinic on campus, offering quick and effective free medical care, and is available to students throughout the school year. We have data assessing the SBHC's since it began in 2015; we know this service is vital to achieving higher graduation rates and fewer missed school days for Kershaw County students.
The SBHC is open to ALL Kershaw County High School students (no income limits, no insurance limits). While it does not replace your students’ primary care provider, our nurse practitioner can treat common illnesses, such as completing flu and strep testing in the office and writing prescriptions as needed. A parent or guardian will be notified of visits and any student needs. If necessary, the primary care provider will be contacted to keep everyone in the loop on the student’s care. The SBHC service also reduces the time parents take off work to care for a sick student.
You can sign your student up anytime during the year using the link below.
