The Great American Smokeout (GASO)

Today marks the start of a healthier, tobacco-free future!

Whether you are quitting smoking, vaping, or other forms of tobacco, or you are supporting someone who is, it's a new day. We are joining you, and several others, to celebrate this day and support those who are taking their first step toward a smoke and vape free life.

Many of us have seen a little child take those initial first steps. There is excitement and joy. There is also the awareness that there might be some wobbling, and the adult close by often has their hands stretched out toward the child with the intent to catch them if they stumble. And there is pride; pride in the child for doing it anyway.

If you are choosing today to quit tobacco use, we are PROUD of you!

For Employers and Managers

Does your health plan cover tobacco cessation? Do you offer additional incentives or support for employees or their family members to quit tobacco? Check with your insurance provider and get the specifics! Then, be sure to share with all your staff and let them know that you value their health.

Sometimes, that's what they need to get started on their quit journey.
