Why Good Attendance Matters Why Good Attendance Matters

  1. Every Day Counts!
Being in school every day helps your child learn new things, make friends, and have fun. Missing school means missing out on important lessons and activities.

  2. Good Attendance Builds Good Habits
Coming to school regularly helps pupils build routines that will help them succeed not only now but in the future too.

  3. Attendance and Achievement Go Hand in Hand
Pupils with good attendance tend to achieve higher standards in reading, writing, and maths.

  4. Arrive on Time, Ready to Learn
Being punctual means pupils don’t miss the start of lessons and shows respect for teachers and classmates.

  5. We’re Here to Support You
If your child is feeling unwell or facing challenges, talk to a teacher or a trusted adult. We want to help pupils come to school every day.

  6. Parents, Your Support is Key
Let the school know if your child is absent, and work with us to ensure they don’t miss out on learning.

  7. Celebrate Success
After Christmas, we will celebrate good attendance with rewards and recognition because your effort matters!

  8. Attendance is Everyone’s Responsibility
Pupils, parents, and staff all work together to make sure everyone is here and ready to learn.

This week's school attendance is: 94.1%.

This year's attendance to date is 94.9%.

Early Years & KS1 class of the week is 1W with 99.3%.

KS2 classes of the week is 4BY with 96.9%.

A reminder that, as a school, we are aiming for no less than 96% attendance.

The Elves Have Been Busy... The Elves Have Been Busy...

The elves have been busy this week at Low Ash and our Santa's grotto has magically appeared. All pupils will have the opportunity to visit Santa on the last day of term and hopefully enjoy some Christmas stories in there in the last 2 weeks of term.

Year 3 Nell Bank Trip Year 3 Nell Bank Trip

Year 3 had an excellent time at Nell Bank consolidating their Stone Age knowledge. They took on the role of Stone Age people, learning how to light a fire, make cave paintings and weave to create baskets. They also enjoyed creating a shelter. The children were a credit to the school and had such a great time. They were very well behaved and we’re very proud of them.

Introducing the Digital Leaders Introducing the Digital Leaders

Our Year 6 digital leaders play an important role in school by helping to ensure that devices are delivered to classrooms in time for lessons. They give up some of their break and lunchtimes (voluntarily!) to do this.

Below is the link to the latest online safety newsletter. We know that children will be spending more time on their devices over the Christmas holidays so hopefully this will be very relevant.

We have noticed that an increasing number of pupils are reporting to us that they are staying up late using electronic devices. This can significantly impact their sleep quality and overall wellbeing. Lack of sleep not only affects concentration and learning during the school day but can also contribute to lateness or absences. To help your child arrive at school alert, punctual, and ready to learn, we strongly encourage limiting device use in the evening and establishing consistent bedtime routines. Your support in this matter is vital to maintaining good attendance and helping your child achieve their full potential.

A reminder that all of our guides can be found on the online safety page of the website.
