Superintendent's Weekly Update
Dear Weymouth Public Schools' Community,
This week's news story is large enough on its own for one newsletter, in fact it made national headlines!
In case you missed it, this morning Ken Abbott- retired Weymouth Public Schools educator, volunteer, father and community member had the ultimate Father's Day surprise when his family, friends, former colleagues and the crew from the national television show Good Morning America surprised Ken at Nash Elementary with tickets to a Red Sox game for him and his family where he will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and a trip to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. You can watch the whole video with all the excitement from Nash Elementary School here, or in the news section below.
We certainly agree Ken's contributions to our district are profound, and we are so humbled and honored to have him as a part of our family. We also know the heart of our district is filled with extraordinary educators, administrators, students, families, and volunteers just like Ken.
As we head into our final day of school, and your student and family enjoy the last of special programs, graduations, and celebrations let's all take a moment to reflect on the hard work and dedication each and every one of you put towards the progress of our students, schools and district, and let's remember this year we weren't just buzzworthy, but primetime national newsworthy.
We can't wait to see you back in school for a final (half) day on Tuesday. Have a great weekend, Wildcats!
Best Regards,
Robert Wargo
