Family Night Details
Join us for our spring Family Night THIS MONDAY, March 16, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.!
Engage in a fun and informative classroom experience for the whole family. Each teacher is planning an activity that is unique and meaningful to their classroom community and provides a glimpse into a day in the life of a College Heights student. The Little Shop of Stories Spring Book Fair will also be open on Family Night and all week long.
This year, the schedule will be a little different to accommodate the needs of our families.
6:00p-6:25 p.m. Parent Engagement Session 1
6:30p-6:55 p.m. Parent Engagement Session 2
6:55p -7:00 p.m. Good-byes and Wrap-Up!
Teachers will plan one engagement experience that will be repeated at both session times, which will provide flexibility for family schedules and will also ensure the book fair doesn't get overwhelmed at any given time.
We hope you can join us!
Book Fair! Book Fair! Book Fair!
The Spring Book Fair is next week: March 16-20. Our partner this spring is Little Shop of Stories, which returns a portion of book fair sales to College Heights to support early literacy programs.
We still need a few more volunteers on Monday, March 16, to help with Pre-K wish lists; please sign up here if you are able.
Library News
On Monday, Pre-K students enjoyed the very funny book Mr. S by Monica Arnaldo, and we had a robust discussion on why it's great to read a book over and over, because you will always see or hear something new.
Pre-K students will browse the book fair on Monday with their classes and make wish lists. Preschool students will do this on Tuesday.
Pre-K students should plan to return their books on Monday as usual. Because of the book fair, they will check out new ones the following Monday, March 23.
Books read with one-, two-, and three-year-old classes this week:
Cookiesaurus Rex by Amy Fellner Dominy and Nate Evans, illustrated by AG Ford
I'm Very Busy by Oliver Jeffers
Nanette's Baguette by Mo Willems
A Good Place by Lucy Cousins
5 Little Ducks by Denise Fleming
Spanish Program News
Hola familias,
Time flies, and we have already covered four units: Español sí, sí, sí! (Spanish, Yes, Yes, Yes!), Mi cuerpo (My Body), Mi familia (My Family), and ¡Tengo hambre! (I’m Hungry!).
Last month, we finished our unit ¡Tengo hambre! (I’m Hungry!). The children had a wonderful time learning through songs, movement, games, and stories en español. It has been exciting to see how much they continue to grow and respond in our Spanish immersion setting.
In the coming weeks, we will begin our last unit: Los animales del jardín y la granja (Garden and Farm Animals). Through this theme, the children will explore animal vocabulary in Spanish while continuing to learn through music, play, storytelling, and interactive activities.
Thank you again for your continued support and for making this Spanish learning journey possible for your children.
¡Hasta pronto!
Señorita Gigi

Babies in the library! Today's chilly and wet weather brought the cuties in 116 to the library for some indoor play time.

Auction Thank Yous
Wow! What a night!
We on the PTO are still amazed that we had more than 130 people attend and raised over $45,000 for College Heights at the Art from the Heart auction. Thank you for filling the room with energy, cheering on our teachers, sharing why you support our school, bidding in the room or remotely, and raising your paddles to give. Every contribution will make a meaningful impact on our teachers, staff, and students. (We are already ordering art display supplies for our hallways!)
Thank you to the Auction Committee, their supportive partners, our auctioneer Ms. Cheslee Shelton, Dan Cho's band: The Makegoods, and everyone who helped clean up. If we missed anyone, please know how truly grateful we are. We have just a few winners to still follow up with regarding item pick up and will be in touch shortly.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It was a great night for College Heights!
And now… it’s the perfect time to get involved with the PTO!
Because this year’s auction was such a tremendous success, next year is already set up beautifully—and we’re looking for a few new leaders to step in and shine. The best part? You won’t be doing it alone. We have experienced PTO members ready to guide you every step of the way.
We’re currently seeking:
- Assistant Treasurer (with next year’s Treasurer, Robbie Reese, ready to mentor you)
- President and Vice President (with our powerhouse Secretary, Amber Womble—who will be in her 3rd year—who knows everything and will support you completely)
- Auction Chair for 2027 (it comes with a dedicated parking space)
This is your chance to make a meaningful impact and help keep the momentum going. So… who wants ’em?
Don’t all sign up at once. 😉
