New Member Night at the Fairgrounds
This month, we welcome any new members who have never attended a fair or have only been to one or two fairs. We will meet at the 4-H building at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. You will get a tour of the fairgrounds and learn what you need to do on general entry day and for animal shows. We will also have a demonstration of conference judging, where parents and 4-H'ers can see how conference judging happens. If you would like to give it a try, bring a project exhibit with you.
We will be hosting this event on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lyon County Fairgrounds
RSVP by July 25

Premium book and fair registration
Here is the 2025 Premium Book. We encourage you to peruse the Premium Book as you consider which projects to tackle this year.
FairEntry is now open for entry and will close on July 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. When choosing age divisions, select the grade that was completed in 2025. For example, if your 4-H'er just finished grade 5, they would sign up for classes in the 3-5 grade.
Please refer to the 2025 fair schedule. There have been a few adjustments because the Fair is scheduled 1 week later than usual in 2025.
If you require a hard copy of this year's premium book, please contact the extension office. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us with any questions.
Thinking about a new project?
We have project resource books available at the Extension Office. These resources will guide you through beginning a new project and can help you further develop and elevate current projects. We have created a "library" for our resources: https://z.umn.edu/projectresources Please browse the library and contact the office to borrow a resource, or we will scan and email it to you. If you are interested in additional resources, please check out the 4-H Mall at z.umn.edu/shop4hresources.
