ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
A Message from Elementary Director Mr. Anderson
Lots of Important Information!
Dear Eagle Families,
What a great first week of school!
Our hallways have been full of energy, excitement, big smiles, and students ready to learn. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for the partnership you bring to our school. We are off to a great start, and there is a lot to be excited about!
Kindergarten Begins Monday
Our Kindergarten Eagles officially join us this Monday, August 24th! We are so excited to welcome our newest kiddos. We know it is a big day for both our students and our parents, and our team is ready to make it a great first day.
Back to School Night – Thursday, August 27th
We would love to see you at Back to School Night this Thursday, August 27th.
This is more than just an opportunity to meet the teacher. It is a chance for us to get on the same page about what your child will experience this year, what we expect from our students, and how we can work together to help them be successful.
To make it easier for families with children in multiple grades, we will have three 25-minute sessions with 10-minute transition times:
Session 1: 4:30–4:55 PM
Session 2: 5:05–5:30 PM
Session 3: 5:40–6:05 PM
Our Students Nailed Their First Fire Drill
I also want to brag on our students for a minute.
Our Eagles did an outstanding job during our first practice fire drill on Thursday. They stayed calm, listened to directions, moved quickly and safely, and showed the kind of responsibility we expect from our students.
Safety is something we take seriously, and I was proud of the way our students handled themselves.
Carpool: Thank You for Your Patience
Finally, thank you for your patience and kindness during drop-off and pickup. The first few weeks always take a little extra time as new families learn the routines and our staff gets everything running smoothly.
The good news is—we'll get there quickly. As everyone becomes familiar with the process, carpool will become much more efficient.
We are always looking for ways to make carpool move more quickly and efficiently, but we will never sacrifice the safety of a student or adult to save a few minutes. Safety will always be our number one priority.
As we work through pickup each day, we ask everyone to please be considerate of one another and follow the established carpool procedures. We understand that everyone is ready to get home, but when we all follow the same process, carpool actually moves faster for everyone. When someone tries to bypass the process or does something differently than what is expected, it can create confusion and ultimately slow everyone down. I appreciate those parents who have reached out to me with ideas to consider and I promise we will always look at these suggestions.
A Few Important Reminders for next week with Carpool:
Dual Immersion Kindergarten Carpool: Dual Immersion Kindergarten has a dedicated carpool lane across the street at the Kindergarten building. We will attach a map of what this looks like below.
Older Siblings: Older brothers and sisters are welcome to walk across to the nest area to meet their younger siblings for pickup.
Pedestrians & Parking: If you park and walk over to pick up your child, please be especially mindful of the Kindergarten Nest carpool traffic as you exit.
Thank you for a great first week. We appreciate your patience, your trust, and the way you continue to partner with us.
Let's make it a great year together! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. randerson@americanleadership.net

SECONDARY INFORMATION
A Message from High School Director Mr. Carvalho
Important Reminders!
Aloha ALA Families and Students!
What an incredible first week of the 2026–2027 school year! The energy at ALA is different—and it is exciting to see our climate and culture continue to ELEVATE!
There is a positive energy throughout our campus, and that is because of YOU—our students and families. Thank you for supporting our efforts to elevate ourselves in everything we do. Our students are embracing a more professional look, attendance has improved, and most importantly, our students genuinely want to be at ALA!
This year, we welcomed over 100 new students to our Secondary School. Families are choosing ALA because they are looking for a school with structure, strong academics, a family environment, and a place where students can grow and belong. We appreciate the trust and support you have given us!
A Few Important Reminders
As we continue building on a great first week, please help us with a few important housekeeping items:
- Student Check-Out & Front Entrance Security
We have implemented a front entrance system to better secure our school and protect our students and staff. When checking out a student during the school day, parents/guardians MUST come into the front office and sign their student out at the front desk. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure campus.
- Updated Dress Code
Thank you for the tremendous support with our updated dress code! We have already seen a noticeable difference in the professional look and feel of our campus. As a reminder, NO jeans may be worn Monday through Wednesday, and black polos and black outerwear are not permitted under our updated dress code. Please continue helping your student come to school prepared and in dress code each day.
- Cell Phones & Personal Smart Devices
The State of Utah passed Senate Bill 69, establishing a statewide “bell-to-bell” restriction on personal smart devices during the school day. This means students may not use cell phones, smartwatches, or similar personal smart devices from the first bell of the day through the final dismissal bell—including during lunch and passing periods.
Please encourage your student to put their cell phone away in their backpack and keep it there throughout the school day. Our goal is not simply compliance—it is to reduce distractions, increase engagement, strengthen relationships, and help our students stay LOCKED IN on learning and being present with one another.
We have a lot of work ahead, but we are off to a GREAT start! Let's continue supporting one another, holding ourselves to high standards, and living our RISE UP values every day.
Together, we will continue to raise the standard, strengthen our culture, and ELEVATE everything we do!
RISE UP! GO EAGLES!!
