Friday 14th November
A note from Mrs Fitzsimons
Another busy and brilliant week in Spa Primary. Thank you for your patience with the roadworks. I am praying we are back to some sense of normality on Monday. Please remember not to park so far on the footpath that pedestrians/prams/wheelchairs cannot use it. I know that parking on the footpath outside Labyrinth allows a better flow of traffic but today it was impassable for pedestrians.
We want to wish our P7 pupils who are sitting their first SEAG paper tomorrow the best of wishes. They have been a credit to their parents and to the school for their excellent work ethic and determination. They are well-prepared and we know will do themselves proud.
Ticket will go on sale on Mon 24th Nov for the Christmas performances by P1-P4. They will cost £5 each and initially a maximum of 2 tickets per family per performance will be allowed. As always, if more are available we will let you know. More information will follow.
We have been getting all our costumes out for the plays and are missing our main characters, Mary, Joseph, Donkey and angels. We think we might have lent these to someone for a Sunday School performance. If this is the case could you please return them to school.
Have a lovely weekend enjoying family time,
Mrs F
Anti-Bullying Week
We had a brilliant week this week learning about bullying, what it is, and how to stand up to it. I have attached a link below to our Anti-bullying policy below. This is an extensive document which follows the statutory guidelines for addressing bullying in schools. As can be seen from the appendices, a stringent process is followed when there has been an incident of bullying reported. This is always available on our website. Our digital leaders were fantastic helping the younger classes use Just2Easy to design some odd socks. Thanks to Miss Whitley for organising the week.
World Diabetes Day
P3 learnt all about Diabetes today from their classmate Martha Robinson. She told us about living with Diabetes in assembly and then talked to her class. Her whole class wore something blue today and made a friendship chain.
Friends of Spa
As per my email yesterday, we are having our first meeting of the year on Mon 24th Nov at 7:00. We would love to see as many parents there as possible to help us get the year off to a good start.
Reading Information Session for Parents
All of our classes are now starting to use the new reading scheme. As this is mostly done in school you may not be aware of that. We are excited to let you see the good practice that is going on and give you some advice and tips on how to help your child at home. Reading underpins everything and it is essential we are nurturing readers at Spa Primary. The information session will be held on Tues 20th Jan at 7:00. I urge you to put this in your diaries now as it will be a very beneficial night.
School Council raise £724 from the Disco for School Fund.
School Choir at Montalto
Wed. night next week sees the choir singing at the Montalto Lights Switch-on. If your child is planning to attend and hasn't returned their permission slip they must do so by Monday.
