Students Request Transcript to be Sent to College
Hello Seniors! We’re writing to inform you about an important change in how our school will manage transcript requests moving forward.
Beginning immediately, we will be transitioning away from using SCOIR for transcript submissions. Instead, we will now be utilizing Xello.
What’s Changing?
NOT a CommonApp School - Transcripts will now be sent through Xello.
CommonAPP School - Transcripts will be sent through CommonApp.
You will no longer use SCOIR to request or send transcripts.
We encourage you to log into Xello via MyPlan soon to start exploring and ensure your information is up to date. Please also refer to the Xello information being sent out in the Counseling Newsletter for helpful resources and guidance.

Visiting a College Campus
Visiting a College Campus
Visiting campus gives you more than brochures ever can — it helps you feel whether you belong there. If you go during a break (when things are quieter), here’s how to make it count:
Before You Go
-
Set your priorities. Decide what matters most to you — size, programs, dorms, social life, academic support, etc.
-
Do your homework. Watch virtual tours, scroll student blogs, check social media.
-
Reach out early. Ask admissions if they’ll run tours, arrange for a dorm walkthrough, or schedule meetings with staff or professors.
-
Bring your questions. Make a short list of what you want answered so you don’t forget.
What to Do On Campus
-
Check what’s open. Some buildings, services, or recreation centers may be closed or limited during breaks.
-
Assess facilities. Walk through dorms, classrooms, dining halls, the library — see their condition and upkeep.
-
Talk to available people. Even during break, admissions staff, faculty, and a few students might be around — get whatever insight they can share.
-
Explore the surroundings. Walk around town, visit cafés, grocery stores, transport stops — your life off campus matters, too.
-
Take notes & pictures. The quiet campus you visit may not feel like the full version — so record what you notice.
What to Keep in Mind
-
You may not see student energy, club activity, or daily hustle.
-
Sometimes faculty and staff are less available than during regular semesters.
-
Your impressions should be compared with what the school says happens when the semester is active.

Gratitude: A Simple Habit That Can Transform Your Day
Feeling overwhelmed or down? Practicing gratitude might be the boost you need. Teens who regularly express thankfulness experience improved mood, better sleep, and stronger friendships ADAA.
Easy Ways to Practice Gratitude:
-
Gratitude Journal: Write down three things you're thankful for each day.
-
Gratitude Jar: Write a note of thanks and add it to a jar. Over time, you'll have a collection of positive moments to reflect on.
-
Share Appreciation: Tell someone why you're grateful for them. It could be a friend, family member, or teacher.
Incorporating gratitude into your daily routine can lead to a more positive outlook and improved well-being. Start small, stay consistent, and notice the difference it makes.
