Sentinel families,

September is here, which means the Sentinel Family is officially back in the school groove! The schedules are settling in, traffic is mostly behaving, and everyone is slowly remembering where they are supposed to be and when they are supposed to be there.

This year, we are continuing to focus on two very important things: being here and being on time! A big thank-you to everyone who has been leaving a little earlier as traffic and transportation issues settle down. Your extra few minutes in the morning really do make a difference—and may even save students from that last-minute sprint through the parking lot!

📵 Yondr Pouches: We Have Good News!

I know… students may not exactly be sending us thank-you cards for the Yondr pouches. However, we have seen a dramatic increase in student engagement, conversations, and socialization since they were introduced.

Students are actually talking to each other between classes! They are looking up, making eye contact, and interacting with the people around them. And perhaps most importantly, we are seeing fewer students walking down the hallway while staring at their phones and accidentally walking into things—or attempting the highly dangerous sport of falling UP the stairs.

Of course, this does not mean the Sentinel Family has completely eliminated clumsiness. We are still teenagers and adults navigating hallways before 8:00 a.m.

We truly appreciate your support as we follow the law while also encouraging academic engagement, face-to-face interaction, and positive mental health.

Fall Sports & Clubs Are Underway!

Our fall sports teams are officially in action, and our clubs will be up and running soon! There are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved, meet new people, and find something they enjoy.

And speaking of excitement…

THE JUNIOR PARKING RAFFLE IS COMING!

The junior parking raffle will take place the week of September 14, and our juniors will be anxiously waiting to see whether Lady Luck has decided to park on their side.

Stay tuned for more information, and thank you for helping us make it another great year at SHS!
