School may be out for the summer; however, we've still been busy here at West Grand! Take a look at some of the things our students were still involved in and prepare for the upcoming school year.

Past newsletters will be posted on our district website.

Also, if there are specific items or questions you have, please reach out to Mrs. Bauer at bauere@wgsd.us or 970-724-3217.

We are Grand Today. Greater Tomorrow.

Excellence in Education: Martha Schake Excellence in Education: Martha Schake

At the last Board meeting in June, Martha Schake was recognized for her work, dedication, and years of service at West Grand.

Martha is retiring after 36 years serving our district and community. The Board of Education voted to name the district office after her to honor her legacy and love for West Grand. In June, we officially hung the plaque dedicating the district office to her.

Thank you, Martha, for all you have done for West Grand! You will be missed!

Kremmling Days Parade Kremmling Days Parade

West Grand showed up in full Mustang spirit at the Kremmling Days Parade!

Staff, students, and families came together to represent WG on our float in this beloved annual tradition. We were proud to be joined by the West Grand Spirit Team and our FFA program, helping to make the event even more special.

What a fun and meaningful way to show our Mustang pride and celebrate the strength of our community.

Thank you, Kremmling Area Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a great event for our community!

AeroLab Summer Programming AeroLab Summer Programming

The halls of West Grand were still full of adventure this summer!

Thanks to our partnership with Colorado AeroLab , students have been busy with exciting summer programming—using our school as their home base for learning, exploring, and fun.

This year’s pirate-themed summer camp has taken students on all sorts of adventures:

Trips to Denver (including the Zoo, Butterfly Pavilion, and CSU Spur)

Rocky Mountain National Park explorations

Swimming at the Summit Recreation Center

Visits to the Grand County Library in Kremmling

Hands-on STEM activities

… and much more!

We’d say these young pirates had a jolly ole time!

A big thank you to Colorado Aerolab, West Grand, and our amazing camp counselors for creating such an engaging and enriching summer experience for our students.

EF Tour -- A trip across the ocean EF Tour -- A trip across the ocean

Earlier this summer, West Grand High School students had the incredible opportunity to explore parts of Greece, Italy, and Turkey through EF Educational Tours. Along the way, our group stood out—not just for their Mustang pride, but for how close-knit, respectful, and fun they were.

Students enjoyed amazing food, got to see live demonstrations, and experienced history firsthand in some of the most iconic places in the world.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Nurse Chelsea Gaines and Jen Hooks, who played key roles in making this trip happen—from organizing logistics to helping with fundraising. In fact, Mrs. Gaines is already dreaming up the next adventure... Also a big thank you to the other adult sponsors who made this trip possible and helped ensure our students were safe.

Curious about EF Tours? Check out their website to learn more about their global travel opportunities.

And don’t miss upcoming posts about the next EF Tour opportunity right here at West Grand! Enjoy just a small taste of some of the adventures the group got to take with these pictures.

Mustang Spirit? YES! Mustang Spirit? YES!

The WGHS Mustang Cheerleaders are ready to bring the energy this season after an amazing week of camp with the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders! The team had a blast, learned so much, and wrapped up their camp experience by cheering at the Denver Rockies game mid-July.

In bloom

Our flowers, fields, and grounds are kept up all summer to have an inviting environment for our community and guests. We appreciate all of the work it takes by so many of our staff members to ensure we are in full bloom during the warmer months.

Splash pad

The splash pad is a great resource for our community during the summer months. Unfortunately, the splash pad has experienced several issues this summer. We are grateful to those who have spent hours trying to get it up and running again.
