A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
There will be guest speakers from Fox Valley Technical College and UW-Oshkosh to share information about our dual credit courses (courses you can earn both high school and college credit for). Our Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator will be here to share information regarding our Youth Apprenticeship Programs that students use for career-based learning opportunities.
There will also be information about our Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the different industry recognized credentials (certificates) that can be earned while in high school.
The event should help students and parents/guardians better understand the opportunities they can take in class scheduling to support their academic success and future career goals.
Please contact our school counselor, Mrs. LaFleur, at hlafl@omro.k12.wi.us if you have any questions.
We hope to see our 9th and 10th grade families there!

At the same time, we are excited to welcome Officer Hilgers as our new School Resource Officer. We look forward to building a great partnership and are thankful to have him serving our students, staff, and school community.

National Teen Driver Safety Week- Congratulations Students and Staff!
October 18-24th is considered National Teen Driver Safety Week. This is a campaign led by the U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to raise awareness about teen driver crashes, inexperience, and safe driving habits.
Did you know that teen drivers are more likely to be involved in a crash than any other age group? Everyone should do their part in keeping our roads safe by buckling up every time.
Congratulations, Omro High! The Seatbelt Safety Check was a success! Staff and students, along with Dr. Jones, and our SRO, Officer Hilgers were out in force this morning in front of the school as drivers came into the parking lot to discover that 98% of our drivers and riders were wearing their seatbelts! Those drivers received a free Big Buddy drink of Hot Chocolate from Kwik Trip if they were caught being safe! Way to stay safe, Foxes!
World of Children Class Cares for "Baby Macy"
Students in Mrs. Morse's World of Children class are talking about caring for Infants. They had the opportunity to take care of "Baby Macy" -- a baby simulator. They needed to figure out why she was crying and care for her accordingly.
SADD Olympics!
Each year the S.A.D.D. group hosts an Olympics of sorts. Students are given one month to go on a photo scavenger hunt.
Congratulations to the "gold medal winner" of the S.A.D.D. 2026 Olympics, Adessa!
She took several photos for this event. A few of those photos were: getting her face painted, reading outside, going on a hike, and much more.
Adessa has earned a $26 gift certificate. Congrats, Adessa!
If you'd like to share any kudos or gratitude for our high school staff, please use this form to submit your positive comments and help us celebrate their great work!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Senior Cap and Gown Orders Due Next Friday, October 30
Students met with our Jostens Representative this week and they were provided an order form for their cap and gown. The representative will return on Friday, October 30 and orders will be taken during both lunches that day. Please be sure to ask your Senior for the form so they are able to return them on Friday.
Students and Driving Lessons
Students who take Behind the Wheel classes through a local driving school must have a parent call them in each time, just like any other request for a student to leave school. We are not affiliated with any driving school and they do not communicate with us regarding lessons nor do they let us know of any cancellations or changes in regard to weather.
Also, because we do not offer driver's ed classes, these absences do count toward student's 10 days and are parent excused as long as they are within those ten days.
If you are looking for possible Driver's Education classes, including Behind the Wheel, these are companies that have let us know they are in our area:
- Cruisin' Safely at https://www.cruisinsafely.com/drivers-education
- Ries Driving School at https://riesdrivingschool.com/
Omro Softball Fundraiser

- JV jerseys and a Varsity alternate jerseys
Every contribution makes a difference! Please help us spread the word by sharing our fundraiser with your friends via email and social media — it’s really easy with the tools provided here, just click the share icons!
Thanks to Schoolfundr, we're able to keep ALL the funds we raise (minus standard payment processing fees), ensuring that every possible dollar goes directly towards supporting our program.

Thank you, from the Softball Team

COUNSELOR CORNER
Want to Connect with the School Counselor?
Please go to the Student Resource page and scroll to the bottom. This will take you to my new request form. Mrs. LaFleur is hoping this will be an easier way for everyone to get in touch with her.
Omro Partnering with Cartwheel Telehealth Mental Health Provider
The District has partnered with Cartwheel, a telehealth mental health provider for students. These services are only offered virtually and at this time would not be during school hours. Check out their one-page brochure below for details.
Another nice option they offer is parent guidance (brochure below) to help parents guide their child through what they are going through. This would be utilized if a student is too young for therapy or may be older but not be ready for therapy.
Here is the link to the Cartwheel webpage, which has some really nice resources for teachers and families.
As always, reach out if you have any questions or feel like you have a student that could benefit from outside of school mental health services.
Counselor Connection Newsletter
Please see this month’s Counselor Connection Newsletter. This was sent to all families/guardians within the School District of Omro. The school counselors from all buildings (HB Patch/OES, OMS and OHS) have collaborated to create one newsletter. Please take time to read this newsletter. Their contact information is listed within the newsletter.
Student College Visits- Please Read
Have you scheduled an upcoming College visit?
In order for your College visits to be excused, you MUST do ALL of the following:
1. You must have a pre-arranged absence form completed, signed and TURNED IN.
2. You must forward the email that you receive from the college or technical school confirming that you have been scheduled for a visit to Mrs. Stadler at cstad@omro.k12.wi.us.
3. You must provide proof you attended the visit, such as a photo in front of that school's sign, a note on school letterhead, a photo of your sign in, etc...
Please make sure you are following the correct procedure so that your absence is excused!
University/ Recruiter Visit Procedure
In order for students to meet with recruiters, the recruiter needs to set up appointments THROUGH GUIDANCE and they should be scheduled during study hall. Please do not just set something up on your own with them as we do not allow recruiters free access to students without going through the proper procedure. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with the office or guidance.
