All funding for the musical comes from fundraising, private donations, and ticket sales.

Ticket Money pays for:

The Production Royalty Fee, Video License, and Scripts: $815 for Mary Poppins Jr

Costumes: expected expenditure $2500. Sounds like a lot until you divide that amount by the average number of cast members,120. Yes, we search for bargains, happily accept donations, and visit thrift stores. If I'm desperate, I even sew costumes. This is also why cast members cannot keep their costumes. I also repurpose costumes from previous shows.

Props: The materials to make props for the show.

Set Construction and Painting Materials

Sound Equipment: $14,986.20 New Sound System in compliance with federal regulations and hopefully resolving the feedback issues.

Lighting Equipment

Only 32 of the 60 scripts have been returned! Any cast member who does not return their script will not be eligible for a script next year.

In the past, Leads have written a note to the next person to play their role. They give advice on how to portray the character, handle performance jitters, and reminisce about their favorite moment. Keep the tradition going!

Return your script so that future productions will have additional scripts!

Check out alum, Timmy Wilcox's new album, A Diary to the Lost released on Spotify on October 15. Tim was a band and musical star during his years at Emerson! His album showcases his mastery of several instruments! Timmy is currently a sophomore at Miami University.
