Once Upon a Book Fair...

The Book Fair is here! Teachers have signed up for times that students can shop for books between October 27-31. Families are also welcome to shop together after school during the following hours:

  • Monday, October 27 ~ 2:30-4 PM *Open after Chorus!
  • Tuesday, October 28 ~ 2:30-4:30 PM *Open after Girls on the Run!
  • Wednesday, October 29 ~ 2:30-4 PM *Open after 1st & 2nd grade Garden Club!
  • Thursday, October 30 ~ 5-7 PM *Open after Family Literacy Night!

eWallets

Shop cash-free at the Book Fair with eWallet! This convenient and secure digital payment option allows students to shop the fair independently. Once you create the eWallet, you can share it with friends and family members who live near and far - anyone with your access link can contribute to it!

Wishes Granted!

Calling all Fairy Godmothers! Grant Book Fair wishes through our Share the Fair program. Having access to books at home is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement, so any donations to help purchase books for students is greatly appreciated! Click here to visit the RES Book Fair hub and learn more.

Did you know that our teachers have Book Fair wish lists, too?! If you would like to donate a book to help build a Classroom Library, you can...

  • Visit the Book Fair in person and look through the books that teachers have added to their Wish Lists.
  • Add funds to your child's eWallet and send a note or email to our Librarian, Susan Vaughan (svaughan@glnd.k12.va.us), to let her know that you'd like to use some of the funds to purchase a book for a specific teacher.
  • Encore teachers, Special Education teachers, and aides - ALL faculty members at RES have made wishes!

Family Literacy Night

We are opening our doors to families from 4-5 PM on October 30 for our "Reading is Magical" literacy event. Learn how to support reading at home and then have some fun making crafts and playing games together. Following the event, the Book Fair will be open from 5-7 PM for anyone who would like to shop.
