Principal's Message
Hello PRT Families!
It was a hot one this week and this (slightly) cooler weather is definitely welcomed! It was great to see all the Huskies in action this week!! If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you probably saw that it was a clean sweep this week for PRT fall sports with more info below! All four volleyball teams won on Wednesday defeating the SFT Cyclones, all three football teams won on Thursday defeating the CT Bulldogs, all six XC teams won on Thursday defeating both OT and ST and the cheerleaders did a great job at the football game! Way to go Huskies!!
We are excited for the Old Settler's Day parade tomorrow. Our band is ready and so are our cheerleaders, dance team and the Howlin' Huskies Pep Club. We hope to see you all there and can't wait to hear you all cheering on the Huskies.
I hope all of our families have a wonderful weekend!

One of the most exciting events of the football season is almost here, our annual PRT Night Game!
This year, we’re proud to once again partner with Allison’s Allies and use our Night Game to help support their fight against breast cancer.
Get ready to PINK OUT CBAC on Wednesday, October 7th, as the Huskies take on Oregon Trail at 6:00 PM!
We’ve created a special Pink Out Night Game t-shirt, with proceeds benefiting Allison’s Allies. It’s a great way to show your Husky pride, support an incredible cause, and help us fill the stands with PINK on game night.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this special PRT tradition! Click the link below to order your Pink Out shirt or make a monetary donation, deadline is Sunday September 27th.

8th Grade Career Pathways Fair
On Thursday, October 1, all 8th grade students will attend the Career Pathways Fair at Olathe Public Schools Innovation Campus (OPSIC). This event provides students with the opportunity to explore the wide range of options available to them in Olathe Schools beginning in high school. By engaging with high school students currently enrolled in these programs, your child will gain valuable insight into a variety of courses and opportunities.
Students will be able to explore:
· Career Pathway Programs
· Performing Arts
· Visual Arts
· Four-Year Academies
· Two-Year Academies
Students will be transported by bus to OPSIC and will attend the fair from 8:45am- 9:15am. Students will be leaving Prairie Trail at 8:30am and return to school by approximately 9:45am that day. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during this time.
To help our students prepare for this event, counselors will be visiting classrooms in the coming weeks to help them determine careers or career pathways of interest and sharing with them the expectations for the Career Pathways Fair. We will be asking our students to conduct themselves in a professional manner and encouraging them to dress in PRT spirit wear.
During the fair, students will complete a Pathway Fair Passport. Before attending, they will pre-select five pathways to visit based on their current interests and future career goals. We encourage you to talk with your child beforehand to help them decide which pathway booths they would most like to explore.
For more information about available career pathways, please review the diagram below on Industries, Clusters, and Pathways and visit: https://www.olatheschools.org/careerpathways
Thank you for supporting your child as they begin exploring their future opportunities!
