PTSA + FOUNDATION MESSAGE
Hey Spartans!
We are quickly approaching the end of another amazing year at Newcomb — but the fun isn’t over just yet!
First, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of the incredible volunteers who poured their creativity, energy, and magical talents into making Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week such a memorable celebration for our amazing staff. Your thoughtfulness and dedication truly made our educators feel valued and celebrated!
We would also like to thank everyone who helped make the Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Golf Classic such a tremendous success! The day was filled with fun, connection, and community spirit, and the Foundation is incredibly grateful to all of the players, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who made the event possible.
SBAC testing continues for a few more weeks, but PTSA is helping keep student spirits high by distributing snacks during middle school nutrition! Don’t forget — there are also exciting gift card incentives and popsicle parties for the classes and students with the best attendance during these important testing weeks.
Looking ahead, the Foundation’s final meeting of the year will take place on May 19, and PTSA’s final Association Meeting will be held on May 26 in the Newcomb Library. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate this year’s accomplishments, reflect on fundraising successes, and begin planning for another fantastic year ahead. All parents and caregivers are welcome! (Childcare will be provided at the PTSA meeting only.)
Thank you for continuing to make Newcomb such a special community.
Go Spartans!
Celebrating Parents Nights Out
“It takes a village,” and the village here at Newcomb is truly incredible!
Lindsey Canizales and Tina Quitana, two of our current Middle School moms who have been part of the Newcomb community for many years, wanted to create opportunities for parents to connect, have fun, and share in the journey of raising our amazing Spartans together.
A few years ago, they began organizing Parent Nights Out, and since then they have continued creating so many fun, welcoming, and memorable experiences for our families. From Bunco nights at Glory Days, to Paint & Sip events, Trivia at Dempsey’s, and BINGO at Snug Harbor, these evenings have become wonderful opportunities for parents and caregivers to relax, laugh together, and build friendships within our Spartan community.
We are so grateful for the time, heart, and dedication they pour into these events. It has been so special seeing our Newcomb village continue to grow stronger through these nights together.
We love seeing familiar faces at every event and hope to welcome many new ones at the next Parent Night Out!

SBAC Snacks
SBAC snack distribution during nutrition has been a HUGE hit! Thank you to everyone who has helped donate, organize, and distribute snacks to keep our Spartans fueled and focused during testing. The students have been so appreciative, and it has truly helped bring positive energy and encouragement to their mornings. We are so grateful for the incredible support from our Newcomb community!
SCENES FROM TEACHER + STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, hosted by our PTSA and beautifully coordinated by Mariela Romo and Lezlye Martinez, was truly a magical experience ✨️
From daily treats and thoughtful surprises to heartfelt notes, cheerful signs, and creative door decorations, our staff felt celebrated and appreciated all week long. The festivities culminated in a wonderful luncheon and raffle on Friday, creating the perfect finale to an incredible week of gratitude.
Our Spartans and school community truly showered our teachers and staff with the love and appreciation they so deeply deserve for the magic, care, and dedication they bring to our students every single day throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week so special!
