Q3 Progress Reports: Due March 15
Tips & Helpful Info - Raven Homeschool
Third Quarter Progress Reports are due March 15. Let us help!
March 15th is the end of third quarter and it is a great time to review all of your students' grades!
- If your student started late in the school year, teachers take this into consideration when checking grades for First and Second Quarter, but we do have deadlines and want to help those students get caught up.
- We encourage students to be on track with 50% of their course work completed by the end of Quarter 2 (December 15th) or be at the Mid-term Exam. By Quarter Three, students should be at 75% of their coursework completed. If you need a little longer to get there, please reach out to your advisory teacher to let them know.
- For each course your student is enrolled in, you need to provide a grade, a short progress summary, and a work sample.
- If these three items are not provided, your teacher will reach out to get them completed.
- If your Quarter 1 or 2 Progress Reports got closed with Incompletes, please reach out to your advisory teacher so you can work together to get those updated as well.

What to Include for a Successful Progress Report:
- Grade - Letter grade that the student has earned during that quarter.
- Progress Summary - Should include on average the number of hours per day and number of days per week student spends on the subject. It should also include topics covered. As a great reminder of what your student learned each quarter, you should be able to pull the main topics right from the curriculum. You may want to include the % grade they earned. Parents can include any supplementary materials being used for a specific course. Example: If a student reads 20 minutes 4-5 times a week, completes workbook pages, or receives and completes a subscription box, etc.
- Work Samples - One work sample per subject is required. An example of their best work (a paper, test, quiz) is suggested. A certificate of completion is another good work sample. Elective classes (non-high school) - photos of the student participating is acceptable. High school electives should include the class "journal" and log of documented hours.
- Parent Comments - This is a great place to record those learning opportunities that don't fit under any one particular subject. Examples: Participated in a chili cook-off and won 3rd place or volunteered at Special Olympics.
Your student's progress report is written documentation of what they learned during that time period. Think of it as an educational portfolio.
