Message from Mrs. Russell
Trimester 2 Begins
Our students did such a great job in the first 12 weeks of school and worked hard to learn school routines and expectations, balance their academic and extra-curricular lives and engage with new peers and adults. We are proud of their efforts and excited to head into the next phase of the school year. Thank you for supporting them and us as we continue to work together in their education. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

CAPTURING KIDS' HEARTS FAMILY SURVEY
At Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, all of our schools use the Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) process to build strong relationships, create a positive school culture, and ensure every student feels connected, valued, and supported. Through CKH strategies—like Greetings, Good Things, Social Contracts, and Launches—we work to create classrooms and school communities where students thrive both academically and socially.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we invite you to share your thoughts in the CKH Family Survey. Your feedback helps us understand how our CKH practices are experienced by families and how they impact students’ connections and sense of belonging.
We truly value your voice! Your input helps us celebrate what’s going well and identify ways to keep growing together as a district family. Take the survey here: CKH FAMILY SURVEY

FUNDRAISER ENDS FRIDAY
Fundraiser and Cold Weather - our students need helpful reminders.
Our fundraiser went live 11/7 and we are close to meeting our school goal. Thank you for supporting this important effort as we try to provide cost free field trips and continue with important student recognition and activities. Students still have the opportunity to join if they wish to be entered into the grand prize raffle. If they already registered, every donation made contributes to their personal total and leads to various prizes and additional raffle entries.

Emergency Preparedness
Emergencies can happen anywhere, whether you’re at school, at home, or out in the community. Knowing what to do ahead of time helps you stay calm and safe. Our school district does a great job during safety drills, and it’s clear that most students take them seriously. Still, there’s always room to get even better.
During drills, pay close attention to what your teachers say and think about what you’d do in a real situation. At home, talk with your family about escape routes and where to meet if you ever have to leave quickly.
If an emergency happens, listen to trusted adults like teachers, parents, or first responders. Being prepared means you can react quickly, stay calm, and make smart choices when it matters most.

TRAVELING STUDENT INFO
MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule
For Elementary Students Attending MPMS
These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.
The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.
For MPMS Students Attending MPHS
These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
