Principal's Update to Families

Thank you for another great week of school!

A few reminders:

1. when arriving for drop off/pick up, stop at spot #4 until staff go outside for arrival/dismissal (do not park in the emergency lane);
2. stay in your car;
3. do not park and get off to walk your child in, students will walk in on their own or with help from staff.
4. morning drop off: while waiting in line along the church/playground, park on the right side to allow for staff to drive into the parking lot.

This is a reminder that gum is not allowed at school. Chewing gum can create several problems:

• It often ends up stuck under desks and furniture, causing messes and damage.

• Loud chewing, snapping, and bubble-blowing can distract both students and teachers from learning.

• Improperly disposed gum creates an unsanitary environment and extra cleanup for our staff.

We take pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming school environment, and your support in reinforcing this rule with your child helps us achieve that.

As a campus, we are committed to reaching our school-wide attendance goal of 98%. Attendance is directly connected to student success—if students are not here, they are not learning.

We are averaging about 30 early check-outs each day. While these may seem small, the lost instructional minutes from absences, early check-outs, and tardies add up quickly and impact student learning.

We ask for your partnership in helping us meet our goal. Please make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time, every day, and stays until dismissal. Together, we can ensure all students have the time they need in the classroom to grow and succeed.

Login to your Parent Self-Serve account and complete the ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION for each student attending a SWISD campus this year.
