Your Voice Matters at MHS Your Voice Matters at MHS

Our campus survey is now open, and we truly need every family’s input.

The survey is a little longer this time, but your honest feedback helps us improve communication, strengthen programs, and better serve our students.

Please take a few minutes to complete it. Your voice directly impacts the direction of our campus.

πŸ’ͺ Built Different: Yellow Jacket Powerlifters πŸ’ͺ Built Different: Yellow Jacket Powerlifters

Our Yellow Jacket Powerlifters had a strong showing at the Rio Vista Powerlifting Meet! Both the boys and girls teams placed 4th overall, and several of our athletes earned top finishes in their weight classes. We are proud of the discipline, determination, and hard work these students continue to showβ€”on the platform and beyond.

February CKH Focus: Kindness February CKH Focus: Kindness

This month, our Capturing Kids’ Hearts focus is Kindness.

Kindness is more than just being nice. It’s choosing to speak with respect, helping without being asked, including others, and responding with patienceβ€”even when it’s hard. In a small, close-knit community like ours, those daily choices truly shape the culture of our campus.

At Meridian High School, we are intentionally teaching and modeling kindness in classrooms, hallways, practices, and activities. We want our students to understand that leadership begins with how we treat people.

πŸ’¬ What Kindness Looks Like at School

  • Greeting others by name

  • Encouraging teammates and classmates

  • Choosing respectful words

  • Including someone who feels left out

  • Showing patience during challenges

🏑 How Families Can Support at Home

  • Ask your student: β€œWhat’s one kind thing you did today?”

  • Model calm, respectful conversations

  • Encourage gratitude and thankfulness

  • Talk about how words and actions affect others

When students learn to lead with kindness, they build stronger friendships, stronger teams, and a stronger school community.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to grow not only academically, but in character. We are proud to walk alongside you in raising young people who lead with heart. πŸ’›

Volunteer Opportunities

None at this time.

A fantastic idea from one of our parents: Meridian High is looking to launch a volunteer programβ€”much like classroom moms but for our whole school! We’d love for parents or family members to help greet students, decorate hallways, make positive phone calls home, and support other school activities. This is a wonderful way to build connections and celebrate our students. Interested in joining the volunteer team or learning more? Let us know by filling out the form.

We will send out a monthly sign up sheet requesting volunteers for events happening at the school. Sign up for one or all. Anyone is welcome! Volunteer forms must be signed in order to participate during school hours.
