PSEO Preparation Group Meetings for Students PSEO Preparation Group Meetings for Students

To support students interested in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program, the school Counseling Staff will be hosting PSEO Preparation Group Meetings on late-start Monday mornings from 7:10–8:00 a.m. These sessions are designed to help students understand the process and complete required steps with confidence.

  • February 23 – Room SW170
This meeting is recommended for students who are new to the PSEO process, are unsure how to get started, or were unable to attend the PSEO informational meeting held in January.

  • March 16 and March 23 – Conference Room 10A
These meetings are intended for students who are further along in the process and need to turn in required paperwork, including having their Notice of Student Registration (NOSR) form reviewed and signed.

These small-group meetings provide students with personalized guidance and an opportunity to ask questions. We encourage parents to talk with their students about attending the session that best fits their current stage in the PSEO process to help ensure a smooth and timely application experience.

CTE Month Wrap-Up: Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow CTE Month Wrap-Up: Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow

As we wrap up Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, we celebrate the meaningful learning experiences taking place at Blaine High School through student organizations such as Business Professionals of America (BPA), HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and Educators Rising. Together, these programs bridge classroom learning with real-world application by offering leadership opportunities, competitive events, and hands-on skill development that prepare students for college and careers.

Educators Rising provides a focused pathway for students interested in the field of education, encouraging them to explore careers in teaching while gaining a realistic understanding of the profession. Through field experiences, collaboration, and leadership development, students learn what it means to make a lasting impact in the classroom and the community.

As BPA and HOSA members prepare for their upcoming state conferences, they continue to strengthen essential professional skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving while exploring future career paths. Junior Bright Neba shared that BPA and HOSA have helped her prepare for college and a future in the medical field by building confidence, communication skills, and real-world experience. Sophomore Nasrin Sahal noted that BPA helped build confidence while HOSA revealed a passion for helping others and shaping a future in healthcare. Sophomore Jaden Chen discovered a new interest in accounting through BPA and, within just a few months, earned 1st place in Payroll at Regionals to advance to the State Conference.

These student experiences reflect the purpose of CTE: empowering learners to discover their strengths, explore meaningful career pathways, and develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed beyond high school.
