My Jersey, Your Impact Spotlight - Michael Murphy

'My Jersey, Your Impact' is a high school and sports tradition, where student-athletes honor teachers, coaches, or school staff members who have made a significant difference in their lives.

Wins and losses stay on the field, but the
guidance, belief, and dedication provided by these mentors last a lifetime. This jersey is more than just fabric—it is a symbol of gratitude, teamwork, and a shared journey. Thank you, Mr. Murphy, for making an impact that matters.

Veterans Day takes place on November 11th every year. Veterans Day is celebrated all over the country with parades and celebrations. Neidig Elementary will be honoring our Vets on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. We would like to show our Veterans how much we value their service while inspiring the Neidig community. We are inviting Veterans who have a connection to a Neidig student (family members or friends) to join us on this special day.

If you have a Veteran who you would like us to honor, please complete this Google Form by Friday, October 30, 2026.

  • Veterans who can attend in person, our celebration will take place at Neidig on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 10:00. Please complete this form if you are able to attend in person.

  • We can also honor Veterans who are unable to attend in person. If you have a family member who is a Vet (either living or deceased), you can complete the Wall of Heroes Template to be hung in our school hallways. If you completed one last year and your child was not in 5th grade, we still have it! You may complete more than one tribute. Wall of Heroes Template

Halloween Parade! Halloween Parade!

October 30 at 2:55!

On Friday, October 30, is Neidig's annual October Parade. All Neidig families are welcome to attend this fun event. The parade takes place on the Neidig playground, beginning at 2:55 PM. During the event, families will report directly to the playground, and may not enter through the building.

Please meet us on the playground / blacktop behind the school. No one will be permitted entry to the school. Parking is limited, please do not park in the Bus Loop or the Car Rider line.

Students will return to class after the parade and may NOT leave with parents. Any changes to dismissal (changes to car rider, etc.) must be made before 1:30pm on October 30th to our dismissal line.

Important guidelines about students' costumes / outfits.

Please review this list carefully so we can avoid any upset feelings on the day of the parade.

  • Absolutely no blood, gore, or weapons of any kind.

  • No Masks. Students are not permitted to wear masks or anything covering their face. Students will be walking outside and up and down steps, so this is done as a safety measure. If a mask is a vital part of the student's outfit, they are permitted to carry the mask, but they cannot wear it over their face. Again, no masks.

  • Students should arrive at school wearing their costume. They will wear this attire for the ENTIRE day. The costume / outfit must be comfortable, and the costume should not prevent students from learning throughout the day.

  • Family members will not be able to come to school and help their children change or prepare for the parade. As stated in the previous point, students will arrive at school in their attire, and remain in outfit for the day. We know there may be some small exceptions, and students may have a small prop to carry once the parade begins. Again, absolutely no weapons of any kind.

  • We are allowing inflatables this year, but they cannot cover the student’s face or hands at any time, neither during class or the parade. The inflatable must conform to the above regulations and your student must be able to work normally throughout the school day. If the outfit does impact classroom performance, the student will need to take off the inflatable until the start of the parade.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Strong routines lead to big learning gains! Research shows that regular attendance in elementary school helps children build confidence, form lasting friendships, and master key skills like reading and math. Even missing just a couple days a month can add up quickly over the school year. Check out this Attendance Flyer for helpful tips on establishing smooth morning routines, setting backup plans, and working with our school team to support your child’s attendance journey. Together, let’s set our students up for success—on time, every day!

As a reminder, here is a link to QCSD’s Attendance Procedures. All absences are required to be reported, and QCSD uses SafeArrival as our absence management system. If you have not set up an account yet, do so at https://go.schoolmessenger.com. Parents can report their child’s absence 24 hours/7 days a week and future absences can be reported at any time. You will use this system K-12.

Student Assistance Program (SAP) Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Like in all schools, Neidig has an ESAP (Elementary Student Assistance Program). The primary goal of ESAP is to help students overcome barriers to learning so that they may achieve, advance, and remain in school. We have a trained, multi-disciplinary team to identify student needs, recommend interventions within school and community, and coordinate referrals for services. Mrs. Courtney Smith is our ESAP Counselor at Neidig, and she recommended this video that highlights SAP in Bucs County.

Below is a flyer that provides more information about ESAP.

K-8 Football Spectator Reminder K-8 Football Spectator Reminder

Panther football returns this Friday night, and we can't wait to see the stands full again. Thank you to everyone who helped make last season such a positive experience. The community spirit at our home games was tremendous, and many fans told us how much they enjoyed the atmosphere.

Late last season, we introduced new expectations for younger fans, and the support from our families made an immediate difference. As a reminder, K-8 students attending the game should be accompanied by a paid adult, who stays with them throughout the event. Students arriving on their own will be asked to wait for an adult before entering, and we ask that adults stay for the duration of the game.

We know this takes a little extra planning, and we appreciate it. It helped make our home games more enjoyable for everyone, and we're looking forward to carrying that into the new season.

School staff are on hand at games to manage the crowd, respond to emergencies, and keep things running smoothly, while parents and guardians (or another responsible adult) supervise their own children. Together, that partnership is what makes Friday nights work.

See you at the game! Go Panthers!

Emergency Dismissal

It may be necessary during the year to close school for an early dismissal due to weather conditions or other emergency reasons. It is important for all families to have a clear plan should these events occur.

To assist all students during these emergency closings, an Emergency Dismissal Backup Plan must be completed by all families. Complete your student’s emergency dismissal information here o en español aquí.

Food Services Food Services

The Quakertown Community School District is a full Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) district for the 2026-2027 School Year. Therefore, all students, K-12, qualify to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch meal per day at school. Please note, this does not include a la carte items or second meals - students would need funds in their cafeteria accounts for these types of purchases. Parents can add funds to their students’ account either through the online system with SchoolCafe.com or students may bring cash or check payable to Quakertown Community School District to the cafeteria to be added to their meal account. Please include the student’s full name on the envelope for cash or in the memo section of a check to ensure proper credit.

Families that have been Directly Certified by the state will receive an email notification for their

records. Since all students are eligible for free meals, online/paper applications are no longer

accepted for processing.

If your student has funds available in their cafeteria account and will not be purchasing a la carte

items or second meals during the 2026-2027 school year, a parent/guardian on file in PowerSchool

may request a refund. Please email sreiss@qcsd.org with each student's name, grade and mailing

address for confirmation. Checks will only be made payable to a parent/guardian on file in

PowerSchool. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing the refund from the time of request. If you have additional questions or concerns, please email the Business Office secretary at sreiss@qcsd.org.
