Girls Tennis Sends 5 to State!

Girls Tennis tied for 2nd in the regional tournament last week at Niwot with 5 players qualifying for the State tournament. Mackenzie Bergeson, playing #2 Singles, defeated Standley Lake and Silver Creek before falling to Longmont. She went on to beat Centaurus in the playback, earning her spot. She'll be playing Air Academy in the first round.

At #2 Doubles, Quinn Sartell and Hannah Corujo went to 3 sets against both Longmont and Centaurus, winning both matches before falling to Niwot. Their initial wins secured their place at State. They'll be playing Grand Junction in round 1.

At #4 Doubles, Grace Hartmann and Penelope Morris easily defeated Standley Lake, then won in 3 sets versus Centaurus before falling to Niwot to secure their spot. They'll be playing Durango in round 1.

All other players made it to the playback final, helping Monarch earn the 2nd place tie overall. Great play from everyone and a great end to the regular season! State will be held May 8-10 in Pueblo. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!
