A Message From the Principal
Dear families,
After a day without school and several days of indoor recess, we are finally able to go back outside. Students and staff have done a great job while spending the entire day indoors. Recess is a special time to be with friends, talk, play, and develop social skills; being indoors limits those interactions and the types of activities students can engage in. I am proud of our students and staff for staying positive and working hard on their learning.
Our communities are going through hard times, and hard times call for us to be the best versions of ourselves. It is sad to have families afraid of leaving their houses or of bringing their children to school. This is not about ideologies or political affiliations. I carry a passport card myself in case I am stopped by immigration officers. It is not always about being a citizen or going through the right process to become one; sadly, for some of us, it is about our skin color and our accent.
But in troubled times, people rise to the occasion and show their solidarity and love in multiple ways. Thank you for providing groceries, rides, homes, and much more to families going through these trying times. We continue our practice of having our school social worker, Mrs. Schlegel, serve as the contact for both those wanting to help and those asking for help. Personally, I feel your empathy and encouragement. I understand that we may not be of the same heart regarding the immigration enforcement taking place in our state. I respect your opinion, because in a democratic system, we should be able to disagree. I simply share my experiences and perspectives as a small window into the reality of a significant part of our community.
We continue with our regular programming—with some exceptions—because students need stability and predictability. Our superintendent has been clear that we are student-centric, and we will continue providing a high-quality educational experience. Concurrently, we will follow our safety protocols if a need arises, including monitoring parking lots before school, during dismissal, and during recess.
Thank you for the sense of community and the feeling of being surrounded by caring and loving families. It is an honor and a blessing to be part of the Weaver Lake community.
Sincerely,
Ronald

PTO BINGO Night
PTO will be bringing back the 2nd annual BINGO event! The event will take place on April 10th 5-8PM. We need your help with the prizes! We're looking for a few people who are willing to contact some local businesses (we have a list, request letters/templates to use, etc.) to see if they're willing to donate a prize for BINGO. This is the same method that's been used over the last few years to get donations for PTO events, and many hands make light work. We'll also need you to coordinate getting those donations from the business to the school or to the Fundraising Chair's home in Brooklyn Park. If you are able to help out, please email jodi.einberger.collins@gmail.com and she will give the details and get the information to you to start calling/emailing!
Registered volunteers should keep an eye on their inboxes for more events to come as our weather starts to get warmer!
Thank you!
