Weekly News
This week, we celebrated Read Across America with fun and engaging spirit days that promoted a love of reading across our school community. Students and staff enthusiastically participated, creating an exciting and festive atmosphere throughout the building.
Students also celebrated National SEL Day by reflecting on their future goals. They selected a career they aspire to pursue and identified a social-emotional skill they have learned that would help them navigate a tough day. This meaningful activity encouraged self-awareness, goal setting, and the practical application of SEL skills.
Additionally, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we incorporated DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time into our character education block. Students gathered in the hallways to read silently, reinforcing the importance of literacy while also fostering a calm, connected, and a reflective school environment.
For March, the core value that aligns with Main Road School is Honesty. Students will earn Inverso Incentive dollars this month by being honest. These dollars will be cashed in weekly during their lunch at the Inverso Emporium.
Please feel free to reach out to the PTO with any fundraising ideas you may have, as well as opportunities to get involved within our school community. Our next PTO Meeting will be Tuesday, February 10th at 7:00 PM. Below you can find a flyer for candy gram sales in the month of February.
A friendly reminder went out to parents and guardians this week letting you know that mid year data for your child can be viewed in the Realtime parent portal. Please make sure you are accessing this information to be aware of your child's academics. In March, we will hold Spring conferences. A letter will be sent regarding this on March 4th and teachers will reach out/you may request a conference during our designated window.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to another great week ahead!
Friendly Reminder: The doors open at Main Road School at 8:12 and parent pickup begins at 2:50 PM! **IF you are picking up your child, you must let the office know by 2 PM. Please be sure to notify the office and not the teacher, as they WILL NOT see the email/dojo message while they are teaching**
