The STAR Assessments begin this week. Please encourage your GMS student to get a good nights rest, charge their Chromebook/device and make sure that they bring it to school every day. Please note: Loaner devices are available for students who are having their device fixed through the EMSD TechBench. If you have any questions please reach out, through email to your students ELA or Math teacher and/or Mr. Ryan. Good Luck on the Winter STAR Assessment Gators!
Girls in Engineering was an event that GMS students had the opportunity to participate in - GMS students toured John Deere Harvester Works, built a derby car, worked an assembly line, practiced their MIG Welding skills, tried a hand at excavation, took apart and built a tractor motor, and just had an amazing time networking with other students from across the QC area. THANK YOU John Deere for offering such an amazing day for young females to experience numerous career opportunities. A shout-out to Ms. Sommers for organizing the day for us and to Mrs. Hauer, Mrs. Mojica, and Ms. Neff for assisting throughout the day - it couldn't happen without all of you! THANK YOU!

The Mariachi students have been busy this fall with several performances. The beginning Mariachi students will have their first performance at our concert on December 19th at 7pm in the Glenview South gym! The Intermediate and Advanced Mariachi continue to strive for excellence by learning difficult music and advanced techniques. An example of one of these advanced techniques… walking, playing and singing at the same time (1st time ever) in the Dia de los Muertos parade!
