π The Roots of Doris Hoffman
This week at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we begin nurturing the roots of learning as our Little Indians continue to grow through curiosity, exploration, and new experiences each day.
At this age, learning is happening all the time β not just during structured activities, but through play, conversations, and everyday routines. It may look like a child asking questions, trying something new, solving a problem, or making a connection between what they already know and what they are discovering.
Throughout our classrooms, children are engaging in hands-on experiences that encourage them to explore, think, and create. Our teachers are guiding these moments by asking questions, modeling language, and supporting children as they build confidence in their abilities. These experiences help children see themselves as capable learners.
At home, you might notice your child sharing something new theyβve learned, asking more questions, or showing excitement about trying new things. Encouraging their curiosity, talking about their day, and celebrating their efforts are all wonderful ways to support their learning journey.
Together, we are building a strong foundation for a love of learning that will continue to grow β one discovery at a time.

π Staff Appreciation Week
Staff appreciation week is May 4th-8th, and we need your help to celebrate the amazing staff that care for your awesome kiddos each day! If you would like to donate treats for Tuesday, please send them to the office by Monday, May 4th. If you choose to send items in on the other days, please label the item with whom it should be given to. We appreciate you helping us celebrate the wonderful staff at Doris Hoffman.
π€Character Corner
Next week, our Little Indians are beginning to build a love for learning as they explore, ask questions, and discover new things about the world around them.
In the classroom, learning is showing up in exciting and meaningful ways β children are trying new activities, asking βwhyβ and βhow,β and staying engaged a little longer as they explore their interests. These moments help children build confidence and begin to see themselves as capable learners.
You can support a love of learning at home by:
β Encouraging curiosity β welcome your childβs questions and explore the answers together
π Reading together daily and talking about the story, pictures, and ideas
π Letting your child try new things β even if it takes time or a few attempts to figure it out
When children feel supported in their curiosity and efforts, they begin to develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to grow curious minds and confident learners in our Little Indians. π

π Final Note...
As we wrap up another great week at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we are so proud of the growth we continue to see in our Little Indians each day. We are finishing up our focus on patience, and it has been wonderful to see children taking turns, working through challenges, and showing increasing independence.
As we head into the month of May, we are excited to shift our focus to learning β encouraging curiosity, exploration, and confidence as children continue to grow. This is such a meaningful time of year to reflect on how far our students have come while also continuing to build skills that will carry them forward.
With end-of-year events, celebrations, and transitions ahead, there will be many opportunities for both patience and learning to shine. Your support at home β encouraging your child to talk about their day, ask questions, and try new things β makes a lasting difference.
We are so grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families. Together, we are helping our children grow into confident, capable learners ready for what comes next.
Wishing your family a wonderful week ahead! π

With gratitude,
Mrs. Amy Huson
