Celebrating Teachers of the Year
Recognizing the 24-25 DeSoto ISD Campus Top Teachers
Aaron Jackson
The Meadows Elementary
5th Grade Math Teacher
Aaron Jackson has spent the past six years of his 17-year teaching career teaching 5th grade math at The Meadows in DeSoto ISD. Throughout his career, Jackson has dedicated himself to making a difference in his students' academic lives, constantly working to inspire them to overcome challenges and embrace learning.
What Jackson loves most about teaching is witnessing the “epiphany” moments when his students grasp concepts they once thought were difficult. For him, those moments of growth are the true reward of teaching. He is deeply inspired by the belief that students must be prepared for a rapidly changing, global world. This drive pushes Jackson to ensure his students not only succeed in the classroom but are equipped with the skills to thrive in an ever-evolving society.
One of Jackson’s favorite moments as a teacher is seeing his students take ownership of their learning. When his students begin to use math strategies and the “UPS Check” (a method of verifying their work) independently, without prompting, he feels immense satisfaction, knowing they are taking pride in their progress.
Jackson’s approach to teaching is grounded in rigor and persistence. He creates an environment where students are encouraged to never give up, and he turns every moment into a teachable opportunity. His dedication to excellence has earned him the respect of his peers, and he considers being recognized by them both humbling and motivating.
This recognition serves as a reminder to Jackson that hard work, dedication, and consistency pay off. He is committed to continuing to set the standard of excellence for his students and is fueled by the desire to help them reach their highest potential every day.
Aaron Jackson’s unwavering commitment to his students makes him a standout educator at The Meadows.
