Madeira Elementary
Where learning is personalized and success is ensured.
February 17th, 2025
Hello MES Families,
I hope you are all doing enjoying this long weekend and trying to stay healthy and warm amidst these very wintery days!
We continue to have so many exciting this going on throughout the building. Last week was filled with love and kindness. From teacher lessons tailored to the festive fun, morning announcements including random acts of kindness to try each day, and celebrating each other during Valentine's day parties all throughout the building! Our staff also capped off a great week with some really powerful learning and connecting of their own. Teachers really soak up the time away from their students to better themselves and their classrooms. That was evident all over the building this Friday!
We have more excitement and learning on the horizon. Our 1st graders will kick off the musical season with their performance this week and practice rounds for the other grade levels. We also have our 4th grade SHAQ Jr students running grade level assemblies of their own that focus on self-care techniques. There is so much to learn from one another, not just your teacher!
Have a wonderful week!
Take care,
Chandley

No School for Students / Teacher In Service
As winter hits, so do unfortunate sicknesses. In the event your child is absent don't forget you can call our attendance line 24/7. 513-924-3777
Emails to Erika Hernandez (ehernandez@madeiracityschools.org) and the homeroom teacher is also a good way to report an absence.
PikMyKid Reminders
Remember to use PikMyKid for updates and changes to your dismissal plan. The cut-off time is 2:50pm. After this time, an email is sent to the teacher with the up-to-date dismissal plan for the class. Please avoid sending emails or calling/texting the teacher to make a quick change. This can affect the flow of our dismissal checks resulting in delays and often times students missing their bus. If you are in a last minute bind at dismissal, the best course is to call the main office to work things through.
Thank you for doing your part to ensure a safe and swift dismissal for all of our precious MES kiddos!
Woot Woot Wagon
There are still a few slots left for volunteers!
The Third Woot Woot Wagon is almost here, and we need your help! Join us on February 20th, 21st, or 24th to lend a hand. Your support makes all the difference!
