Message from the School Nurse
Dear Families,
As the colder months are upon us, I’d like to provide a reminder regarding outdoor recess expectations, particularly as they relate to student health and medical needs.
We follow the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education guidelines for outdoor recess during cold weather. When conditions are considered safe, students are expected to participate in outdoor recess as part of the regular school day.
Please be sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather, including warm coats, hats, gloves or mittens, and suitable footwear. If your child is in need of any winter gear, please don’t hesitate to reach out so that we can provide assistance.
From a health and safety standpoint, students are only excused from outdoor recess when there is a medical reason that prevents participation. If your child has a medical condition that requires them to remain indoors during recess, a doctor’s note is required and should be submitted to the Health Office. This documentation allows us to appropriately monitor your child and ensure any necessary accommodations are in place.
If you have any questions or concerns about outdoor recess and your child’s health needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our students healthy and active.
Sincerely,
Nurse Ria

Donations for March Madness Book Challenge
March is Read Across America month and Green Meadow will be celebrating reading again this year with a March Madness Reading Challenge.
To support our reading challenge program, we are looking for donations of boxes of 2 gallon zipper-sealed plastic bags so that students can take books back and forth from school to home. We will be collecting these donations in our school lobby from 2/9 - 2/13. Donations can also made through our PTO Amazon wishlist. Thanks in advance for your support!
