The Fruit Scoop!
September 2025
Message from Mr. Fournier
Dear Families,
We’re excited to let you know that this year Downeast School and Fruit Street School will be trying out two new math programs: Into Math and i-Ready. This pilot will give our students, teachers, and families a chance to see how these programs can help make math learning even stronger.
Both programs are designed to:
Help students build confidence with math skills
Make learning fun and engaging
Give teachers tools to better support each child’s needs
Encourage problem-solving and real-world thinking
Throughout the pilot, students will use these programs in class, and sometimes at home. Teachers and principals will be gathering feedback from students, staff, and families to learn what’s working well and where we can improve.
At the end of the pilot, our district will review everything we’ve learned to help decide if one of these programs should become our long-term math resource.
We’re excited to begin this journey together and will keep you updated along the way. If you have any questions or thoughts, please reach out—we’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for your support and for partnering with us to help every student succeed in math.
Warmly, Richard Fournier
Principal, Fruit Street School
