A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTO

A huge thank you to all of our families that sent goodies in for teacher appreciation week and to those that volunteered their time to help us celebrate our amazing teachers.

We are ending our year with voting for next year’s board which will take place May 11-15. Please stop in the front office if you would like to vote. We are still looking for a SBDM candidate to take that position. A minority representative is needed on SBDM as well. If you are interested in that position or have questions please reach out! Please remember that this position is only one meeting a month and you gain so much knowledge about what is going on in our school. It is truly eye opening to learn all of the behind the scenes decisions and how they are made.

Our final PTO meeting of the year will be Tuesday, May 12th @ 4:30. Please feel free to join us in the library!

Greetings from the Principal

HELLO Bulldog families!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Heartland moms. I hope you have a great day and your families spoil you. :-)

Tomorrow is the last day of KSA testing for 5th grade. With exception of a few make up tests on Tuesday and a few iReady tests, we will be finished with all high stakes testing for the year. We are so very proud of our students for all their efforts.

It is hard to believe that there are only 8 days left of the school year. To celebrate a good year and all the students effort, we have some fun end of the year activities planned for them. Please see the calendar of events listed at the bottom of this newsletter to see what we have planned.

Monday, May 18th will be field day. Please make sure students wear tennis shoes as they will be walking around and playing games most of the day. If you want to send your child with a towel, water bottle and hat that is fine. Sun screen should be applied before they come to school as we, staff, are not allowed to put sun screen on students.

Below is a list of our grade level awards programs--

Wednesday, May 20

7:30-8:10AM- 3rd grade (students receiving an award will be bringing home an invitation)

8:20-8:50AM- 2nd grade (students receiving an award will be bringing home an invitation)

9:00 - 9:30AM - 1st grade (students receiving an award will be bringing home an invitation)

9:40-10:30AM- 4th grade (students receiving an award will be bringing home an invitation)

12:45-1:45PM- 5th grade

5:45-6:45PM- Kindergarten (up to 8 guests per student)

If your child is in 1st-4th grade and brings home an invite, you will want to make sure that you've had your ID scanned in at the office prior to May 20th

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. Have a great week.

Respectfully,

Emily Campbell

Principal
