The RHE Rattler
July 29, 2024

From Principal Page
Dear Rattler Families,
We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful four-day weekend! While our students were away, our staff spent two days engaged in professional development, learning, collaborating, and gearing up for a strong remainder of the school year!
We have some bittersweet news to share. We are so happy for our sweet receptionist, Ms. Emily, as she begins her next adventure, but we are certainly sad to see her go! This Friday will be her last day at RHE. If you have a chance, please stop by this week to wish her well and thank her for all she has done for our Rattler community. She will be missed!
Front Office Safety Update: You will notice a small change to our visitor check-in procedures. To continue prioritizing safety and security, our badge readers will remain in the main entrance area, but the badge printers will be relocated behind the receptionist desk. When visiting, please scan your ID as usual, then bring your ID to the glass window, where our receptionist will provide your printed visitor badge. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we make this adjustment. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Veterans Day Assembly: Next week, we look forward to honoring the brave men and women who have served our country during our Veterans Day Assembly. If you have photos of veterans you would like us to recognize, please send them my way. We would love to celebrate the heroes who are part of our Rattler families!
Finally, thank you to everyone who voted for our staff Halloween costumes on Thursday! We had so much fun, and congratulations to our third-grade team for taking home the win! Our staff certainly knows how to bring the fun and school spirit!
Thank you, as always, for being such an incredible school community. We are grateful for your continued support!

SLAC
In response to Senate Bill 13, the Board of Trustees established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) to provide a collaborative and transparent process for reviewing library materials. SLAC works with librarians and district staff to recommend library materials for procurement, including donated titles, and to review material challenges before making recommendations to the Board. Proposed materials are available for public review and feedback at least 30 days before Board consideration. Visit the SLAC webpage to review proposed titles, provide feedback, or access the Library Materials Challenge Form. For questions, contact Tasha Barker at watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org or 512-533-6036.
