A Message From Dr. Crain
FPS students, staff, and families,
I am not sure if spring is really here, but it sure felt like it this week. Despite the unpredictable weather, our students and staff are embracing the energy that comes with this time of year. Spring activities are in full swing, and it has been wonderful to see our student-athletes, performers, and scholars representing Hornet pride both in and out of the building. This was Academic Week at FHS, recognizing students for their continued academic achievement.
March is School Board Appreciation Month, and our board members were recently recognized by students at this month’s meeting. Serving on a board of education is a genuinely difficult job — it comes with big responsibilities, and it doesn’t pay a dime. If you get the chance, please take a moment to thank a board member when you see them. They are working hard on behalf of every one of us.
With spring break just around the corner, now is a great time to recharge. When students return, our focus will shift to finishing the year strong. Teachers are working hard to prepare students for upcoming state assessments in late April and May, and we are confident our kids are ready to show what they know.
Thank you, as always, for entrusting us with your students. It's a great day to be a Hornet!
Sincerely,
Ty A. Crain

David W. White Outstanding Service in Education Award
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for the students and/or staff of Fulton Public Schools? It's time to nominate those special people for the David W. White Outstanding Service in Education Award. The meaning of this award is explained below.
The Outstanding Service in Education Award was created in 1993 to honor individuals in the district who have demonstrated excellence of character, performance, leadership, and service, and have given generously of themselves on behalf of students.
For 10 years, many deserving individuals were honored. There was, however, one individual who exemplified outstanding service so well that he received the honor twice. Impeccable character--outstanding performance--service--and giving generously of himself every single day, perfectly explained David White. The Fulton School District proudly renamed this award, the David W. White Outstanding Service in Education Award, in his memory in 2003.
Any employee or resident of the Fulton School District is eligible to nominate or be nominated for this award. Consideration is given to accomplishments, service to youth, community involvement, and contributions to the school district. Those profiled are individuals who have demonstrated outstanding performance and contribute more than expected, establishing them as standouts among their peers.
Nominations are due to the Fulton Public Schools District Office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2026. Nomination forms can be found on the "Resources" tab of our district website: fulton58.org, or picked up at our District Office located at 2 Hornet Drive.
