Hawks Hold Strong at Home to Take Conference Win Over Santa Ana
#10 ranked Santiago Canyon closed out the month with a hard-fought 75–70 home win over Santa Ana on January 30, pulling away late to secure an important Orange Empire Conference victory. The Hawks leaned on balanced scoring and timely defense to withstand several momentum swings in a physical, back-and-forth game.
Ryan Weber led the way with 19 points while adding five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, providing steady production on both ends. Dominic Bolton delivered a strong performance, scoring a game-high 20 points and knocking down key free throws down the stretch to help seal the win. Jayden Oei gave the Hawks a big lift off the bench, connecting on four three-pointers on his way to 16 points.
Paris Lassiter impacted the game in multiple ways, finishing with nine points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists while anchoring the defensive effort. Santiago Canyon forced tough looks late and made enough plays at the line to close the door, holding Santa Ana to 70 points and protecting home court with another conference win. The Hawks are now 17-5 on the season and 6-2 in conference play.

Road Test at Riverside City College
Santiago Canyon ran into a tough road environment on Wednesday night and dropped a 91–75 decision at Riverside on January 28. The Hawks found themselves playing uphill early, as Riverside jumped out to a strong first half and took a 47–33 lead into the break.
Despite the early deficit, SCC showed fight in the second half, scoring 42 points and continuing to compete on both ends. Paris Lassiter led the way offensively with 20 points and 12 rebounds, posting a strong all-around performance. Ryan Weber added 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Jacob De Armas and Jayden Oei chipped in eight points apiece. The Hawks were efficient at the free throw line, converting 23 of 29 attempts, but struggled to find consistency from the perimeter.
Riverside’s early momentum and shot-making proved to be the difference, as SCC was unable to fully close the gap down the stretch. The game served as another road test in Orange Empire Conference play, with the Hawks continuing to gain valuable experience as they move forward in the heart of the conference schedule.
