Message from the Administration Message from the Administration

Dear SJH Families,

As we settle into another great week at Syracuse Junior High, I want to take a moment to share something that happens behind the scenes every week that has a significant impact on student learning: our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

At SJH, our teachers don't work in isolation. They regularly come together in collaborative teams to discuss student learning, share strategies, analyze data, and support one another. This teamwork helps ensure that every student receives the best possible instruction and support.

Our PLCs center around four essential questions:

  1. What do we want students to learn?
  2. How will we know if they have learned it?
  3. What will we do when they haven't learned it?
  4. What will we do when they already know it?

These questions guide important conversations as teachers plan lessons, review assessments, and identify ways to help students grow. Whether it's providing additional support, offering enrichment opportunities, or sharing successful instructional practices, our teachers are constantly working together to meet students where they are and help them succeed.

I am incredibly proud of the dedication our faculty brings to this work. Their commitment to collaboration is one of the many reasons SJH is such a special place for students to learn and grow.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a school community where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Pat Limas
Principal, Syracuse Junior High School

DROP OFF & PICK UP DROP OFF & PICK UP

Reminder: As students are being dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon, it's important to remember that the lane closest to the curb is for BUSES ONLY! Cars coming in to the front parking lot need to stay in the left lane. Please only let you student(s) exit the vehicles at the crosswalks and not cross between cars in the parking lot. Your students' safety is our top concern, so we want them to get in the building safely. If students are being dropped off along the front road, please remind them to stay on the sidewalk until they get to the crosswalks. Refer to the picture below for example.

Also, drivers - please be courteous of personal property around the school and DO NOT block driveways or park in turning lanes! Let's work together to keep our neighborhood a safe place to drive around.
