Pajama Day
On Friday, December 19th, we will have our annual Pajama Day. Students and staff will come to school in their pajamas and do many fun celebratory activities. Here are a few reminders for everyone's safety:
- Students may go outside for recess. Pajamas must be appropriate for the weather and keep them warm outside.
- Regular footwear... no slippers
- Stuffed animals should fit inside your backpack (if you choose to bring one)
Successful Season
Congratulations to our Volleyball Team. They ended their season 10-1 and made it to the championship game of the Middle School Tournament. This is the best record and result our volleyball program has had and we loved cheering them along this season!
Food Drive
Thank you to Room 310 for organizing a food drive to collect items for the Food Bank of Delaware. The generosity of our community is evident as our boxes were overflowing daily! Thank you Room 310 for making this happen!
Giving Back
Current Families can log into Infinite Campus and visit the School Store to make a donation.
"Specialists are Special" Breakfast
In December, our PTO organizes a "Specialists are Special" breakfast to honor all of the non-classroom teachers that make a big impact on children every day. Office staff, facilities, special area teachers, student support, special education teachers, nurses, and administration are invited to a breakfast in December, organized by the PTO, and made possible because of donations from FSMA Families.
Honoring Holidays in a Montessori Classroom
When children see the beautiful diversity of the world through authentic experiences with a wide range of holidays, it nurtures a sense of appreciation for and a celebration of differences. These windows into the cultures of peers create a sense of community and can reveal the interconnectedness and interdependence of all things.
For families: "It’s important to share an accurate representation of holidays observed in your community, as well as to introduce holidays outside of the community: the mirrors that reflect a child’s identity back to them and the windows into cultures that share how others celebrate differently are imperative to the healthy development of the children. Cultural mirrors and windows offer students opportunities to experience both our interconnectedness and our interdependence, key features of Montessori’s Cosmic Education."
Please know that FSMA recognizes that families have different beliefs about holidays and we respect, honor and celebrate everyone!
