The entire Walled Lake Consolidated Schools community is invited to attend the District's 27th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026. This year's celebration will be at Walled Lake Northern High School with a tour of student exhibits starting at 5:30 p.m. and a formal program starting at 6:00 p.m. This year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration theme is Service.“
"Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
Weekly Highlights
Two district high schools recognized as College Board’s AP Honor Roll schools 🏅
Walled Lake Central and Walled Western were honored by College Board as 2025 AP Honor Roll Schools.
This the third-straight year Walled Lake Central has been recognized as an AP School Honor Roll school. The past two years the Vikings received a Bronze distinction. This year’s elevation to Silver status was earned from an increase in AP participation and achievement, including the number of graduating seniors that scored a 3+ on their AP exams and the number of students who took 5 or more AP exams in high school with at least one in ninth or tenth grade.
“The Walled Lake Central faculty, staff and administration works hard to provide the best learning opportunities for all learners,” said principal Kyle Meteyer. “I commend our entire staff for making Walled Lake Central a positive and engaging place to learn, which helps make success in our most challenging courses a do-able reality for our students.”
“Our students consistently rise to meet challenges, including the academic rigor of Advanced Placement courses, and all of our AP students should know that their hard work and academic engagement not only elevates their own academic standing, but the standing of our learning institution as a whole,” added Meteyer.
Walled Lake Western received an AP Honor Roll Bronze distinction for the second-straight year.
“Being recognized on the AP Honor Roll Bronze school for the second year in a row reflects what makes Walled Lake Western such a special place, students who rise to challenges and staff who believe in their potential,” said principal Amy Pashak. “Our AP program empowers students to push themselves, build confidence, and prepare for college-level expectations. We are proud of our students for taking that leap and grateful for our teachers who make it possible.”
Congratulations to our 2026 Teachers of the Year! 🎉
What an unforgettable night celebrating our amazing District and Building Teachers of the Year on Thursday, January 8!
We extremely grateful for all of their hard work, passion and dedication. Thank you for making Walled Lake Consolidated Schools an inspiring place for our students to learn and grow!
Future meteorologists in the making! 🔆☔
This week's forecast: 100% chance of smiles and fun!
Wixom Elementary second and third graders loved exploring weather wonders with FOX2 Meteorologist Derek Kevra this week! Kerva showed the Wolves what it was like to work out in the elements and taught them about clouds, rain and static electricity.
Rolling into 2026 like... 😁
Students at Loon Lake Elementary rolled into the new year with big smiles and tons of fun!
The Loons spent the end of December learning how to roller skate in Mr. Hauswirth's PE class. Nothing beats a roller skating party and that's exactly what the gym looked like with the lights down and disco lights flashing throughout the gym.

This year, athletes will be split into two separate groups:
Athletes that want to compete at tournaments and scrimmages, committing to the entire season.
Athletes that do not want to participate in tournaments, cannot guarantee attendance, and just want to have fun with their friends.
Both groups are wonderful! The only difference will be is that athletes not competing will not be placed on teams - they will attend practices, but will not 'officially' be on a roster.
