🎉 Celebrating Our Posse Scholarship Nominees! 🎉 🎉 Celebrating Our Posse Scholarship Nominees! 🎉

🎉 Celebrating Our Posse Scholarship Nominees! 🎉

Let’s take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the following Parkview Scholars who have been nominated for the prestigious Posse Scholarship!

What is the Posse Scholarship?
Offered by The Posse Foundation, this is a highly competitive full-tuition leadership scholarship to top colleges and universities across the country. The scholarship focuses on identifying and training students with exceptional leadership potential—students who may not always be recognized through traditional college admissions.

Unlike need-based scholarships, Posse is rooted in leadership, teamwork, and a deep commitment to community. The nomination and selection process is rigorous and unique, designed to highlight students who are ready to be change-makers.

Our Parkview Scholars are headed into their first interview round on August 18, and we couldn’t be prouder of them for stepping up to this exciting opportunity.

Please join us in congratulating and supporting these incredible students as they take the next step in their journey!

Open House / Curriculum Night Open House / Curriculum Night

Tuesday, August 19th 6:30—8:30 PM

Curriculum Night is an opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teachers by following their child’s schedule throughout the evening. Parents will begin the evening in their child’s 1st period class. Each class period is long enough to allow a curriculum review by the teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a glimpse of what your child will be experiencing this year in their courses at Parkview High School.

Students will be provided a course schedule with a detailed plan for the evening to bring home for parents to use on Tuesday, 8/19. Please ask your student for this schedule!

Let's Start the Year Safe - Drop off and Pick up at Parkview Let's Start the Year Safe - Drop off and Pick up at Parkview

Please note that students will not be able to enter the building until 6:30am each day. If a student is dropped off at school prior to 6:30am, they will be unable to enter the building until 6:30am when the doors are unlocked and opened.

For the safety of our students, staff and all visitors on campus, please follow our procedures when driving on campus.
  • Morning carpool is on both sides of campus. Afternoon carpool is only on the A building side of campus next to Camp Creek. Any parents picking up on the stadium side of campus will be asked to turn around. Please do not pull into student or teacher lots for student drop off or pick up.
  • Students, please only park in your assigned spot, if you do not have a parking pass, please do not park on the Parkview campus.
  • Please follow the instructions of all parking attendants and staff as they direct you through campus. We all are working to make this time run as smooth as possible.
  • Please stop at all crosswalks and stop signs on campus. The county has installed speed bumps to help slow vehicles in danger areas.
  • Please do not make a left when you are leaving campus during drop off or pick up. This causes traffic to back up both at the school and on Cole Dr. and it creates dangerous situations for buses and other vehicles traveling on Cole Dr.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We’re thrilled to have our students back in the building and look forward to a successful year ahead. To support their academic growth, we encourage students to remain in school for the full day as often as possible because attendance matters.

Students are expected to be present and in class on time every day. Please take a moment to review our attendance procedures to stay informed.

As of August 14, 2025, we’ve recorded 859 check-ins and 192 check-outs after just eight days of school. While we understand that check-outs are sometimes necessary, we kindly ask parents to ensure students stay through the full school day unless an emergency necessitates their absence. This helps students gain the most from their classes and school experiences.

To verify your child’s attendance records, please check ParentSquare regularly. Thank you for partnering with us to make school attendance a priority!

Reminders:

  • All students must check in at the main lobby vestibule, not at tardy stations.

  • Late arrivals must check in to avoid being marked AWOL for missed periods.

  • Parents/Guardians are not required to check their child into school, but documentation is required for the check-in to be excused.

  • Parent excuses apply to absences, not tardies.

  • All notes must be uploaded to ParentVUE within 5 days of the absence, or it will remain unexcused. See directions here.

For details on what qualifies as an excused absence, please visit Gwinnett County's Attendance Policy

New Student Check-In Location

Students will now be checking in at the main entrance vestibule at the station on the left. All check-ins will remain unexcused until an excuse note is uploaded in ParentVUE. (Please see above)

New Student Check-Out Location

Parents and Guardians will now be using our vestibule to complete the checkout process. Please be patient with us during this transition period.

Remember that you can send a note with students in the morning with the students name, ID # and time they are checking out. Our Attendance Office will then contact you to confirm the checkout time and the student will be able to be released from class at that time. They can then sign themselves out. You will not have to enter the building.

New Absence/Tardy Note Procedure

If your student has been absent, you no longer will turn in a note to the attendance office. All notes must be uploaded in ParentVUE within 5 days of the absence or it will remain unexcused.
