A Note from Mrs. Stefanich A Note from Mrs. Stefanich

What a night!!

Once again, I was blown away by our Holiday Music Program. Yesterday's snow day definitely put a wrench in our usual plans. This year, our students didn't get the opportunity to practice on stage as they typically do. However, that didn't stop our Park students from Sparking Joy for our community and presenting us with the most beautiful and talented program last evening!

I am so proud of our students and their incredible work. I was brought to tears listening to their sweet voices. This is truly such a special event, every year. Special thanks to Mr. Bouwman for all the hard work he puts into this amazing event every year! Please be sure to thank him when you next see him. He sacrifices a lot of time outside of his school day to make sure everything runs smoothly, and this year was especially challenging! Thank you to all of our teachers that volunteered their time for our students last night. And thank you to our amazing community for coming out to support our students. We are so grateful for you!

Mrs. Stefanich

**There was a water bottle left behind at the program, so stop in the office or send me an email if it might be yours!

Some Things Might Take Me Longer and That's OKAY!

This is a great time to celebrate the progress we've made, and the plans we have to grow! Your journey doesn't need to be anyone else's journey, and the pace you are learning and growing is perfect for you. Remind your students that some things take longer to get the hang of, and that's no big deal!

Student/Parent Elementary Handbook Student/Parent Elementary Handbook

Parents, please review our district wide Student/Parent Elementary Handbook. This is new this year and is full of great information that may answer many questions. Please take a look and let me know if you have any specific questions regarding this handbook. Some notable items are listed below:

  • Student dress code prohibits clothing promoting alcohol, violence, etc. Additionally, dress code prohibits bare midriffs, sides, or backs.
  • Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed at school. They need to be powered down and in backpacks during school hours.
  • School begins at 8:45 a.m.

  • Parent drop off: no earlier than 8:35 a.m.

  • School ends at 3:45 p.m.

  • Office hours: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Doctors Note Anyone? Doctors Note Anyone?

Did you know that we accept doctors notes when your child returns from an appointment? If your child has an extended illness or attends an appointment and the absence is accompanied by a doctors note the absence will not be flagged as truant. Under Hudsonville Pubic School guidelines if a student is above a 10% ratio of absences at any point during the school year a truancy (attendance) letter will be sent home. A doctors note makes it so the absence is not counted as part of that 10%.
