Hello Red Oak Families!

Happy Monday! We have another great week of learning scheduled for this week as well as some end of year activities coming up. Please make sure to check out all of the spring and summer events listed below for your students!

As we reach the end of the year, testing is right around the corner! Next week we will begin our KSA testing in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Please make sure you send your child to school well rested! We have every expectation that our students will blow that test out of the water!! If you have any questions surrounding the testing details, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

A nurse practitioner from HealthPoint will be at Red Oak the next 4 Mondays and is able to see any student for their well child, vaccination or sick visit needs. This is a service that runs throughout the school year at various schools.

Attention 5th grade parents: your student will need their 11 year old well child physical and vaccinations to enter 6th grade. If your student has turned 11 and needs an appointment, please call the school nurse at 859-885-0616 to schedule your appointment. Parents do not need to be present for the appointment, the practitioner will call you before and after the appointment to discuss the visit. The link for the registration packet is located here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JNy3rW7erwWZl05YwuqeNkyF5_0WOKV1/view.

Online Registration Open for 2024-25 school year

ONLINE REGISTRATION (OLR) is now open for the 2024-25 school year. Please help by going online and registering for next year. You can register your entire family at one time, even if children attend different schools in the district. OLR completion is one required step to ensure your child receives their Chromebook at the beginning of next school year without delay. Thank you in advance! If you have any questions or need help remembering your password please call the school at (859) 885-0616.

Please be sure to arrive at school on time for dismissal! We begin dismissal at 2:50 and our last car riders are usually picked up around 3:05. Please be sure to be on time when picking up your student in the afternoon. If you are dropping your students off in the morning or afternoon, please do not park in the handicap spots! These spots are to be left available for those who need access. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

This newsletter will come out to families weekly to keep our households informed of what is happening at Red Oak Elementary. I will send out the link every Monday via Remind and Facebook.

Interested in eating lunch with your student?? We would LOVE to have you!

We are so excited to have parents and family members join our students for lunch! This is a privlidge that not all schools allow and we are thankful that we are able to offer this to our families. Some things to keep in mind during your visit:

1. You must check in with the front office with a current photo ID.

2. You must be on the students list of emergency contacts in Infinite Campus.

3. Your visit allows you to eat in the cafeteria and leave immediately following after signing out in the front office.

4. We ask that no parents or visitors walk to their child's classroom after lunch. Our teachers work hard to protect the learning environment for our students and we ask for your full cooperation in this manner.

For the Child Abuse/Neglect check the DPP-156 form must be completed online. Go Here

and click CREATE ACCOUNT. Enter your information and check the DPP-156 form. You must add that you would like for us to have access to your records and include our email for confirmation. You will be given a unique code to submit for payment.

Both the crime check and the CAN check must be completed prior to beginning as a volunteer with Jessamine County Schools. Please understand that there will be no exceptions to this procedure. Mrs. Teresa Walters will notify you when you are ready to volunteer.

BUS RULES!!

The main goal of the Jessamine County Department of Transportation is to keep our kids SAFE while getting to and from school. Below are the bus expectations. If your student is not following these rules, a bus referral will be written. After 3 referrals, a student will no longer be able to participate in bus transportation. Please help us keep your child safe by going over these rules with them!

TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS! TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS!

Any student who is a car rider will need a tag to pick up in carline. If you do not have a car tag hanging in your car, you will need to park and come in to the office to receive your child! We appreciate your cooperation! Please remember to have your child enter and exit the vehicle on the RIGHT SIDE by the curb. This is the best way to ensure that your student stays safe!

All students will be placed on the appropriate transportation that is reflected in Infinite Campus. If you need to make a transportation change, please call Ms. Wanda in our office by 2:00. We need to have time to notify the teachers.

Our Ride 360 app is up and working! If you have any questions at all concerning your child while they are on the bus, please call our office! If you have any questions concerning the Ride 360 app, please call the Transportation Office at 859-885-4891 or the online site .

Families can use their Parent Portal to pay for field trips, classroom fees, and to put money in student cafeteria accounts. There are no fees associated with online payments through the Parent Portal. Online payments are optional; students may still bring in cash or a check. All RED students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of household size or income during the 2021-2022 school year. Families may choose to put money in a student’s cafeteria account to allow the student to purchase extra food/drink. Online payments are STRONGLY encouraged.

The 23-24 School Fees have been added to Infinite Campus as well as any outstanding fees associated with Chromebook damages from last year. Please login to IC Parent Portal to pay these fees. Our fees this year are $25.
