MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Aloha Ohana!

"Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, storytellers, and singers of song."

Happy Father's Day!

The past few weeks were filled with fun, laughter, dancing, trips, singing, and many other activities that ENGAGED everyone from students to parents.

On Monday and Tuesday, we will have our Rock and Roll Recess, followed by the final 3rd grade/retiree clap out. As we continue to finish strong and recognize the students for all of their achievements during student appreciation week, we want to also recognize our DAD’s for Father’s Day!

Thank you to ALL the loving Father’s for your dedication and support!

Enjoy your weekend!

Parents please be reminded of the following:

June 19-21 are half days.

June 21 is our last day.

Another Year of LPGA Ticket Contest Winners!

Miller School's art teacher, Mr. Costino and Davenport Elementary School's art teacher, Mrs. Pfaeffli both had winners for this year's LPGA Ticket Design Contest. This was the 8th year for this contest which was created by Miller School's 5th Grade teacher, Mrs. Cheri Cottelli. There was a lot to celebrate on Friday, June 9th as Savannah Francesco (Grade 4, Miller School/ Davenport Alumni) and Dominic Ellingsworth (Grade 3, Davenport Elementary School) were awarded a plethora of prizes for their winnings: An Acer Laptop, a $50 Shop Rite Gift Card and gift bag. Each school also received $500 in Box Tops money! The ceremony concluded with Q&A's, and an autograph and picture session with professional golfer, Lauren Hartlage. The day ended with all students, teachers and their families enjoying the LPGA Tournament, sampling delicious food and so much more. Congratulations to Savannah and Dominic, two of four winners selected out of over 1,000 entries!

Choral Fest Extravaganza

Davenport hosted EHT's District-Wide Elementary Choral Festival this past Monday with approximately 400 students participating. Performances by the Slaybaugh Singers, Davenport Singers, Davenport Honors Choir and the Miller Chorus were met with thunderous applause! Following their performances, Mrs. Weatherby and Mr. Guerrasio, our Alder and Fernwood Choir Directors, worked with all of our students. Mr. Tinsley, EHTHS Choir Director, then conducted a workshop with just the Davenport Singers before they went on to treat our whole school to their Spring Concert. It was an amazing day of musical magic!
