Falcon Update
Heritage Middle School-Week of May 11th
Letter from the Principal
Dear HMS Families,
Congratulations to everyone involved in the District 100 musical, Matilda Jr.! What an amazing performance and a wonderful representation of Heritage’s talent. Congratulations as well to Ms. Winter for co-directing such a great show.
This past week we took MAP testing and students did an excellent job showing what they learned this school year. This upcoming week we will be finishing up make ups.
On Wednesday, Heritage will be well represented at the Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program. This program honors outstanding 8th grade students who reside in Berwyn and demonstrate excellence both in and out of the classroom. To see who will be representing Heritage please check out their website here.
We would also like to wish the JV Girls Soccer team good luck in their championship game on Monday!
We have a very busy end to the school year, so please make sure you are checking the upcoming events and announcements to ensure you do not miss anything. There will be a fire drill on Thursday, May 14th.
Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open, and we encourage families to begin the process as soon as possible. Please review the flyer below for required registration documents and visit our registration website to begin the process.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day today, we would like to wish all of the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our Heritage community a wonderful and relaxing day. Thank you for all that you do to support our students each and every day.
Thank you,
Michelle Hauer

Family Resource
District 100 strives to ensure that all students and families feel safe, supported, and valued in our school communities. Fostering an inclusive and welcoming school environment is deeply ingrained in the culture of our district and is fundamental to the success of our students. Resources to support families with immigration-related concerns are available on the family resources page on our website.

Heritage Spirt Wear
Purchase Friday spirit wear by using the link below.
PBIS Rewards
We utilize an app called PBIS Rewards where students earn points throughout the school year for being Responsible, Respectful and Safe. We have a PBIS store that we open for students to purchase fun items with their points. We also do raffles, field trips and a winter extravaganza that students can utilize their points throughout the year. We encourage students to use their points by the end of the year as they do not roll over!
StopIt
This week, students will download STOPit to their iPads. This is an online application that Heritage students have access to. This application allows students to anonymously report incidents of bullying, misconduct or general concerns. All reports go to the support service team and administration, which allows us to act quickly and in real time to any concerns or incidents.
Breakfast & Lunch
Students at Heritage receive free breakfast and lunch each day if they choose to participate, or they may bring their own lunch from home. As a healthy school, we ask that students do not bring pop, energy drinks, or large bags of snacks.
Breakfast will be served each morning before students head to their Period 1 class. Lunch will take place at the scheduled time according to the bell schedule, and students will also have the option to participate in recess during their lunchtime.
Below will be where you can find the menus for Heritage through OrganicLife.
