Operation Christmas Child
It’s that time of year again! The National Honor Society will soon be collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Boxes can be picked up in room 109; however, students may only pick up two boxes at a time. Once those are filled and returned, they can pick up two more.
The first box needs to go to Mrs. Currie’s/Mrs. Hall’s room, and that box will earn you a week of free dress during midterms. You are encouraged to bring more boxes, and each box after the first box will be worth +5 in the major grade category for participating classes.
Please bring all other boxes to the classes where you want extra credit. Remember that only one box is allowed per class for extra credit. NHS members will pick up boxes from participating classes every week to store in the conference room.
All boxes must have a sticky note with the following information to receive credit:
Name
Grade
Free dress box (1st box)
Subject for +5 (all other boxes)
Please note: There are a things that you cannot put in shoe boxes. Soap, candy, food, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, war toys, and toothpaste are not allowed. For the entire list of suggested and prohibited items see:
https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/
Please consider including $10 in your shoebox to help with shipping.
This year our goal is to collect 150 boxes, and we are looking forward to partnering with you to bring joy to children all over the world!
Collection dates: October 13 - November 7
