Happy February PBIS Experts, Practitioners, & Learners!
In reference to the picture above...this is me in my silver-colored, plastic, "moon suit" holding my favorite water vessel after completing a stationary bike ride in my living room. Like many of you, I'm trying to practice some healthier habits, by exercising (and rehydrating) on a consistent basis in order to get though the most frigid parts of winter. Even though I am reminded that it is not the best fashion choice by my close friends and family, it's part of something that I'm trying to do consistently to maintain my mental and physical well-being.
Much like maintaining personal healthy habits, it is imperative to maintain the healthy protocols and practices during the "coldest" parts of our PBIS implementation journey. It's very easy to grow weary and tire during these middle months of the school year. At times, this may seem like an added burden, or the harder path to take, but over time a noticeable difference is made.
Keep your chin up and do the good work! It will continue to pay off.
As the frigid weather (hopefully) starts to warm, I hope that you and your team are able to maintain and improve upon the healthy implementation strategies that you are using, so that your systems and framework continue to gain strength and vibrance! :)
During our next PBIS Champion Cohort Meeting, we will be discussing the updated regional recognition for this 2025-26 school year. Over 50 schools from Erie, Huron, & Lorain counties have submitted applications from our region for white, red, and blue levels of PBIS recognition!
We will also welcome our guest star, Nathan Morris! Nate is amazing teacher, coach, parent and an incredible leader in Wellington, where the students and staff show their DUKE PRIDE. He graciously agreed to talk about his district's journey with PBIS implementation.
I hope to see you there...maybe I'll even wear my moon suit.
As always, if you, or your PBIS team is interested in receiving any FREE coaching or implementation support, please notify Joshua Preece at preece@sstr2.org. All requirements and documents are on our SST2 website HERE.
Thank you all for your continuous hard work and dedication to our students, families, and communities!
Take care,
- Josh
