Week at a Glance
Week 17
Notes from Trish:
Lion Family, I know this is how many of us feel going into this last week before the holiday break! We can do it!!!
Please remember that we have benchmark testing Monday through Thursday. I will attach the bell schedule to the email. On Friday, we have an early out. That bell schedule is included in the bell schedule document that will also be attached to the email. I just want to make sure everyone is in the know...๐
We have more basketball this week. Also, the orchestra program will perform at CHS. Please come out and support your students if you get a chance.
Please keep working with your students to get work turned in. Also, please encourage the students to do their very best on the Benchmark exams. The only grade levels and subject without district benchmark tests are 6th and 7th grade social studies. They will be taking a CUA on the day of the 8th grade social studies benchmark.
As we finish out this first semester, I want to say THANK YOU! I appreciate all that you do to help our students! Please rest, relax and get refreshed for the 2nd semester!!! I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas! I can't wait to see the great things we do in 2025!
Please keep the main thing the main thing this week! Your most creative and engaging lessons will help keep students on task!
Go Lions! Better Together!!!
Trish

Choir Concert
On Tuesday, the choirs took the stage at Ellison. They sounded great! They too had a few surprises in their performance! Great job, Mrs. Blas!
Candle Making!
Not sure if you heard all the excitement in the library on Wednesday afternoon or not... But the students who chose to use their Pride Bucks for an experience were not disappointed! Ms. Windless, Mrs. Fay and Ms. Bretz helped them all make candles to take home as gifts for friends or family members. Thank you, ladies, for such an amazing opportunity!!!
Theatre 2 Play
On Friday night, our Theatre 2 students put on a funny play about how the internet can be a distraction. What a great opportunity for these students to show off their acting skills!!! Thank you, Ms. Jaz, for giving these students an opportunity to perform for their friends and families!!!
Prize Patrol!
The Education Foundation made a surprise visit to the campus this week. They awarded Mrs. Fay a check that will help cover the cost of a bus to take the students of multiple KISD middle schools to a book festival in Waco this year. Congratulations, Mrs. Fay! I appreciate you finding more ways to get students involved in reading!!!
All Region Orchestra
On Saturday, Lewis and Madison had the opportunity to practice and perform with the best of the best orchestra students in our region. They performed on the Baylor campus. Congratulations, Ms. DeVille, on getting these students ready for such an amazing experience!
City of Killeen Holiday Parade
And, to end this very busy week, the Lionettes and Cheer Teams took to the streets of downtown Killeen! They looked amazing as they danced their way down the parade route. It is so fun to see our students put such a positive light on our school and the absolutely amazing students we have! Thank you, Mrs. Carter Bryant and Ms. Doby for all the time you put in to making performances like this happen!!!
