BES Volunteer Opportunities
October & November
We Need YOU!
Supporting our school can be simple - and meaningful. Are you ready to jump in but aren't sure how? Here are some EASY ways for you to connect with BES and support our students and teachers.
Friday, Oct 16 Duty Free Lunch
As we head into fall, this is an easy way to say a little "thank you." Teachers will enjoy a quiet lunch with colleagues while parents help other BES staff supervise kids in the cafeteria.
For the safety of all students and to allow volunteers to fully participate and assist with supervision, we ask that younger siblings not accompany parents while they are volunteering.
Oct 19 - 23 - Book Fair
Come assist students as they shop during our annual Ballentine Book Fair October 19-21 in the BES Library! We will also need a few volunteers to help clean up the Book Fair at the end of the Pumpkin Walk on October 23!
Nov 6 - First Friday Pot Luck
We are providing a tailgate themed potluck for First Friday in November! We are hoping to have hot finger foods, dips, sweets, and all the goodies you look forward to when tailgating!
We have access to electricity to keep your crock pot items warm, as well as the cold items iced over for display all day. If your items are able to be sent ahead of time, you can send them to the front office with your student labeled "PTO First Friday."
If you're sending things Friday morning, please have them to the Cub House no later than 7:30am on 11/06.
Volunteer in the Classroom
Are you interested in helping your child's homeroom teacher? Make sure you check their newsletter and emails often as opportunities are usually posted there. OR you can reach out to your child's teacher and ask how you can help - maybe read to the class, read with a particular group of students, help with a project, etc.
Be a Mentor
Do you have one day a week or every other week to help support a student? Mentoring may be just the right fit for you! This can be early morning just to have breakfast with a student and start their day off o the right foot, maybe have lunch with them, play a board game, read a book or two... so easy and the pay off has life changing potential.
